The game is this wednesday, and I am hoping some of the players involved in the Confederation cup would play. Argentina didn't recall Crespo and Ayala, but I am not sure if they did so with the Inter players.

Having already qualified for next summer’s World Cup finals in Germany, Argentina have omitted some familiar names from their squad for the Fifa Confederations Cup that kicks off in the same country this week.
Coach Jose Pekerman has rested experienced Europe-based players such as Hernan Crespo and Roberto Ayala, and left out Boca Juniors goalkeeper Roberto Abbondanzieri, and River Plate pair Luis Gonzalez and Javier Mascherano, because they are still involved in the Copa Libertadores.

Midfielder Juan Sebastian Veron, out of favour Pekerman took over as coach last September, is also left out.

But Real Madrid defender Walter Samuel, recalled to the squad for this month’s Conmebol World Cup qualifiers after a six-month absence, is included in the Confederations Cup squad.

Pekerman has also included Manchester United defender Gabriel Heinze, the Villarreal trio of Juan Pablo Sorin, Juan Roman Riquelme and Luciano Figueroa, and Brazilian-based forward Carlos Tevez of Corinthians in the 23-man squad.

Two uncapped players have also been selected - defender Martin Demichelis of Bayern Munich, and striker Mario Santana, of Palermo.

im FUCKING sick of this resting situation. all these players get rested, what a shit reason to miss the cup on. then we have players like Zanetti and Adriano who have a legit reason and only get 1 game off.

I have more hopes on the Argi's being there than Adriano. Carlo Alberto is a nut, and Adriano said he had a fight with him just to allow him to play the first leg.

He also threatened him apparently that there is no WC if he doesn't come to the confed cup. He can still play both games, and the game is against Greece whom I think Selecao can beat without Adriano.

All you have to do is ask Pekerman and he'll give you a leave, Zanetti reached his 100th cap, Pekerman rested him in favour of Sorin (who was quite capable of doing the job) so Pekerman will release Javier. Cambiasso, I'm not too sure about, as he has some of his defensive midfielders out, Mascherano has the CL, likewise Lucho who can play there.
Although, saying that, Pekerman and Parreira have every right not to release those players, aslong as its consistent.

What CL does Mascherano have? I forgot which team he joined! But same applies to Cambiasso, he has CL comittment as well.

Lucho and Mascherano still have Copa with River.
Thats what I mean by consistency, if they're let off, the likes of Cambiasso should be let off, but Pekermans fair.
Parreira lets off Oliviera for Betis, and let Adriano for Inter, problem is that Copa Del Rey is one match, Coppa Italia is two legs.

I just read those comments from JZ and Adriano. It looks certain that they will not be there judging from their tone.

I hope Galliani has a very bad summer vacation, and gets a heat stroke.

ROME - The Nerazzurri have begun Monday morning's training session at a sports centre in the Italian capital with warm-up, stretching and muscle-lengthening exercises.

Why are we training in Rome ?? Why not back to Milano ...
And yeah Hamed, according to those interviews; they wun be available for the 2nd leg. It would had been a dream come true had J.Zanetti got to hold that CUP and the whole team take the lap of honour - including Cambiasso, Adriano, ...

They deserve it, but sadly it seems that they are gonna miss it !! Hope, they will get the chance next season when we will win the Scudetto and Champions League and Italian Super Cup (bt Juve), Coppa Italia Cup yet again !! :star:
