Totti always gets a lot of calls from referees.
Overall I thought he called a pretty even game. the yellow cards were a little rough in a few cases, but otherwise most of the fouls were consistent. There was one involving Maicon were the Roma midfielder gripped on to his arm in the box and then fell down trying to get a penalty and the ref saw clearly that the Roma player was holding Maicon's arm and called it our favor. I was very impressed because it wasn't terribly obvious.
We created a lot of chances in the first half early and I thought while Figo was in the game the midfield out performed our current standards. there was some really beautiful one touch passing and through balls set up many times by Figo's footwork.
Once he was subbed out things slowed down a bit but defensively we controlled our side of the field. not a lot of quick counterattacks but the progression and composure worked well, ultimately culminating with the series of chance before Zanetti equalized.
When I saw him score I felt so happy. I can't describe the swell of emotion that I could feel in my chest. Those kind of moments really show how much I love Inter.
I noticed that Zanetti looked very tired the entire match up until he took over Maxwell's position. Several times he stood around communicating to the ball carrier to run a certain direction when he could have easily run around the defender and gotten a through ball up the middle. Once he took up that wing back position though he was on fire. the goal really energized the team and he was pumped up. That one field long run was spectacular near the end. The fans were going crazy.
A pretty entertaining match to say the least, and I think a draw is fair.
Crespo also had some golden chances. That post header was so close. He definitely kept Doni on his toes, who also had to make some hard saves to match JCs efforts at the other end.
I was also impressed by Mancini's subbing this match. he was on top of the players that needed a rest or weren't performing. Although I thought Cambiasso and Figo's substitutions were early, it's better than his usual late entries. Stankovic looked very poor in the half he played. he turned the ball over many times and was sluggish. Yeah he was injured but changing for Suazo was a good choice.
