That formation requires Brazilian style full backs that run up and down the entire flank. That's also why Brazil was the only team that was successful using it. And a couple of old Brazilian clubs that had these kind of players availabe back in the 60s, 70s and 80s.

4-3-1-2 is the way to go in Serie A and we need to have flexibility to add width in Europe.

As much as I like the 3-5-2 system, it has limitations that can be destroyed with teams that can play out wide. But thank fuck not many teams have quality wingers anymore. They're all drifting inside nowadays or attacking midfielders are drifting out wide.

They could be accommodated in a 343 formation, with Sensi/Lautaro upfront flanking Lukaku, and Eriksen as one of the two midfielders in the middle.

Yeah and what's wrong with the bolded one? Mourinho did his chance of formations and systems numerous times, even changes stuff between Serie A and CL. Flexibility and variety of choices is a good trait to have as a coach.
