Even the Greek announcer who was heavily pro-Juventus during the game was extremely confident that there was no PK to be given and was very surprised to see it given.


But this incident just shaped the result at the end, which is why it's more highlighted. The ref was very pro-gobbi tonight.

The ref seen it and waved play on. Var is for clear and obvious errors or if the ref doesn't see it. They had to watch it 5 times in slow motion to decide if it was a penalty. Does that sound clear and obvious to you?

VAR Principles​

The use of VARs in football matches is based on a number of principles, all of which must apply in every match using VARs.

things like this always happen to us. if a 50-50 foul is committed by a rube player it will not be called a penalty. it is very clear from the history of referees and this very corrupt league. as interisti at least we can realize that cheating will happen. we have to fully support our coaches and players against a team that is full of manipulation. Dumfries does make unnecessary and ridiculous contact but pinning the whole blame on him is just as ridiculous. Rube did nothing during the second half. no significant threat. Inzaghi at least tried to keep the score and to be honest it wasn't wrong. we all criticize him for his poorly maintained defense but ironically we criticize him instead.

As for the penalty, that can be called as foul IMO. BUT you need to call that from that spot. If you decide it's not a foul, then you need to go with that. It's not a clear and obvious error to call it a non-foul. Soft soft pen, which can be given but not through VAR because ref had already waved it, ie. had acknowledged the play and decided "n foul".
