10-11 was one of those kits that looked ridiculous in person and I wouldn't be caught dead wearing, but seeing it on the pitch wasn't so bad, at least until the close-ups.
13-14 is the opposite. One of the few I actually own and wear, but on the pitch the black and blue just bled together and it didn't help that it was worn by a bunch of fucking spastics
Completely agree. There's been a handful of jerseys in recent years which fall into that category of "pretty cool on screen, but unattractive up close". I would also include:
- 14/15 black with pinstripes with light blue lettering
- 16/17 yellow Pirelli logo and socks, with weird thumbprint-like pattern on front
- 18/19 potentially great jersey IMO, ruined by that chain-link fence shit on the front
I checked out and tried on each of these jerseys at the sportswear store and any minor interest whatsoever evaporated when viewing them up close.

Also, I ended up buying this seasons home jersey, despite my strong disapproval of the zig-zags. Why? Because at least the colours are great. Also because this will be the last season with Pirelli, one of the most aesthetically pleasant sponsors ever. It'll also be the last jersey before we needlessly mutilate our beautiful club crest
For the first time ever, I bought the jersey with no player name or number on the back because I utterly detest the standardized Serie A typeface. Honestly, fucking Arial would be better that this shit they came up with. I really hate the fact that the FIGC has regulated this (along with captain's armbands, but that's another story).
Also for the first time, I bought the player/match jersey as opposed to the cheaper stadium jersey. Now this was a great discovery for me
Despite being some form of "athletic wear", I personally always found consumer-grade football jerseys to be really fucking hot. I end up never wearing my many jerseys, partly for personal style reasons as well of course, but also because they feel suffocating to wear at times.
No such problems with the match jersey - the material is far more comfortable and breathable, while the fit feels much better too. I feel like a fucken paid actor right now but I was honestly really impressed. It insulates really well so you stay warm but keep cool enough at the same time. As a result, I ended up wearing it out far more than I have with other jerseys in recent years.
Despite the outrageous price, I'll likely be buying match jerseys instead of stadium jerseys moving forward. It's a shame they only seem to sell match versions of the home jersey.
