If that current GdS formation is correct, I'm killing all of you. Seeing Chivu in any starting lineup, even a predicted one, makes my blood boil.

Not if I kill everyone first.

With so many things going wrong at Inter, the rejuvenation project is almost going unnoticed. Even in all this darkness, there is a ray of light... Inter have slowly acquired some decent young talent in the senior team.

Castaignos (19)
Coutinho* (19) - Guarin (25) - Alvarez (23)
Obi (20) - Poli (22)
Nagatomo (25) - Ranocchia (24) - Juan (20) - Faraoni (20)
Viviano* (26)

That's a team with average age below 22 years! And while the jury is still out on whether Castaignos & Juan are good enough to play for the senior team, the rest have already shown enough talent or already made it in the team.

All this without even considering the primavera talent Inter have invested in during the last few years. We will get some future first teamers coming out of Crisetig, Bessa, Longo, Caldirola*, Alborno, Benedetti*, Spendlhofer, Tassi, etc.

There is some decent work going on, it will just take a few years before we can see any results coming out of such a ambitious youth project. Inter have never spent so much on players so young - we usually focus on players in their prime (25-30) or quality oldies (30+). This is uncharted territory for the club, lets hope its proves worthwhile.

*Players out of loan/co-ownership.

If we'd play these back four we'd take more than a few goals every match. Also, Obi wouldn't be a starter if we had better options.

The ofensive part seems decent with Alvarez + Coutinho (good players), Guarin (still to prove himself) and Castaignos (still needs to develop a lot before being a starter). Poli is also good.

Like it or not, and as much as I hate to see deki and chivu starting. Im 100% behind Strama on this.

As long as he plays 4-3-3, and as long as he starts with that attacking line, I dont give a shred of unicellular organism who he plays in midfield or defence.

I think the point was just to show that we have young talent at nearly every position, not necessarily to come up with a plausible lineup.

Though with that said, it really belongs in the Mercato or Ideal Lineup threads.

As far as this game goes, all the predicted lineups suck, but if the team plays like they give a fuck or 2 I'll be happy. Though I do want to see Guarin play. We have an 11mil decision to make in a couple months, so we should probably get as many looks as possible before then.

Calm down guys, Deki shouldn't be that bad playing in a same role that for example Pirlo has in JuBe. Of course, he doesn't run too much, he is slow, but his crosses and long passes are still well accurated.

But in the same time, I'm concerned that Guarin will sit on the bench. Are we that sure of his redemption after loan expires? Don't we need to check his skills first? There is not many time left!

I'm not sure if I'd qualify some of them as talent :(. And most of them are just too green.

I really hope the revolution and the renewal of Inter will bring at least a few young players on the Mercato instead of just retiring the oldies and playing with Obi, Faraoni, etc

Nope. That's a team with average age of 22 years :D

Following the process of rejuvenating the squad we could bench Nagatomo, put Juan at LB (where he usually plays) and bring back Caldirola.

Well, wouldn't be that certain.

What seems to be the case is that the old boys obviously have more quality than the new guys, hence Strama with every passing day in the training seems to be drifting towards an older line-up. But the problem here, which I hope he understands, is that those young guys might not be as reliable or as quality as the oldies (the difference of experience), but they need to play in order to become comparable, to feel comfortable in the top level.

Starting to feel excited. Not for the victory, God no, Genoa is going to blow us out, but I'm really enthused to see the new coach. Guarin, and how he lays us out. I would have been more amped, but Stankovic and Chivu are starting and that is enough to take the wind out of anyones gut, but that is minor....

STRAMACCIONI, NOW UP TO YOU

"I feel ready but enough promises: now Inter need to play."
The new coach to debut and to reverse a disastrous course.
"Emotional? Only when I came in the dressing room."

Appiano Gentile - And now it is up to him. This saying is ungenerous but it is the law the the show (or of football which is a bit of the same thing). Overwhelmed by an unusual destiny, with a cellphone flooded with calls and text messages ("No, those are not from Mourinho: he doesn't know who I am"), Stramaccioni is ready.

Enough talk He is primarily a realist: "I am pleased of the first five days of work, but I am not presumptuous to think that I can make an impact in such a short time. I try to ensure the best possible Inter on April 1." And one request: "I asked the team one simple thing: to not know the opponents that we are going to play after this match because we must only think of beating Genoa." No more talk. "Enough talk, enough promise: now we must reply on the field and this is the desire to reverse the trend that I and our players have. We must give must a sign that we have to deny everything bad that has been said about this team. And in football there is only one to day it: zero proclamations, just facts."

810bp.png

Full of emotion "The biggest was when I came in the dressing room for the first time. It will still be crazy tomorrow but I feel comfortable being on the field and when the referee blows the whistle, your concentration takes over to only think about the game." Stramaccioni has been preparing the team "with my ideas, my way of working, trying to calibrate it with the characteristics of these players: a change in which I want continuity."

Quality on the field Then he talked about the players available on the team and particularly Fredy Guarin: "He has a powerful engine and we need time and attention to see him back the way we knew him. But his characteristics make us very comfortable." And then about Zarate: "Mauro has quality and my choices depend on what I see on the field. This team has a lot of quality and I'm trying to put that on the field."

Play like Inter "We need to play like Inter and I'm not the only one that said this. We all said and are aware of this in the dressing room." But now the San Siro (not only) awaits him. This is a harsh law of football but we don't believe it displeases him.

:fffuuu:

unless the line-up changes, or forlan and zarate both do well (which i doubt), or the team comes out motivated as fuck, then stramaccioni will turn out to be the troll of year
