We'll probably see a Lautaro-Sanchez tandem.

I thought it would more likely be Lukaku and Sanchez up front.

A few considerations:

1. We need a win (obviously). We need the victory for our morale as much as our chances to win the Coppa. We must put these past fuckhead weeks behind us and get back on track immediately.

2. Speaking of holiday, Lautaro is going to be on 'vacation' until mid-February anyway so he must play here.

3. In Lautaro's absence (the recent fucking off of Politanus, plus the news that we won't be buying Giroud/Llorente), it'll be Sanchez who has the burden of replacing Martinez. Coming off a long injury break, we need to get him to a productive level. That means play him to build match fitness and sharpness ASAP. Lukaku could use a rest too. This match presents a great opportunity to kill both birds with one stone.

4. Eriksen..

All things considered, the league and our next match at Udine is still more important. We have 4 days in between but apparently the squad is fatigued (..?) so some rotation would be good where possible. Bastoni should be fine, being a kid and all. If D'Ambrosio/Skriniar are recovered they should be in the mix too.

The problem is the midfield 5. I don't know what the fucking deal is with Asamoah anymore but just assume he's out. The WB's are all shitlords and the CM's are apparently exhausted. Typical of those dickheads, Gagliardini and Vecino take turns being injured when we need them for a change, and Vecino chose a great time to fall out with Conte.

If there is no animosity or if they can at least keep a lid on it, I would play Vecino, assuming he's not sold in the next 18 hours :)yao:) And this is where Eriksen is a must. We need him to get integrated with the team ASAP and at the same time, provide a rest for the others, especially in Brozovic/Gagliardini/Vecino's absence. It's not like Eriksen's coming off injury or any layoff. He's completely fit and fresh. Don't be a fucking pussy - start him. A player of his intelligence and experience can handle it.

And I'm always up for Padelli in cup games just for the lols every time I see his blinding white teeth. I would start:

Padelli
D'Ambrosio de Vrij Bastoni
Candreva Barella Valero Eriksen Young
Sanchez Lautaro

If the game permits, it'd be great to give some minutes to Esposito, Moses, Sensi, Vecino etc. but when does it ever permit for us.

The goons had their retard December/January holiday, it's back to work now.

Lets just say Padelli were selected (which will never happen), who would Captain in Handanovic's place?

With Lautaro who will be suspended for the next 2 Serie A games, I believe duo Lautaro and Sanchez will be better for this Coppa.

Officially speaking, Ranocchia is the vice captain

Eriksen was called up?
He's match fit and already trained with the squad. Sounds unlikely but I hope we at least see a bit of him on the pitch tonight.

Yes Eriksen is on the bench. I don't think that Sensi or Borja will play 90 minutes, so im sure that he will come in for at last 20 minutes.

Yeah but was he called up?

It's hard to know for sure, as conte doesn't want the called ups to be known before the last minute, for whatever reason.

The latest rumour (source, among others, calciomercato.com) is that he is called up and will sit on the benh

Can we all stop for a moment just to acknowledge how stupid these childish tantrums are?
