I won't be surprised if Simone starts the game with Bisseck, Agoume, Sanchez, Asllani and Klassen, just to show the world that he can win no matter the players.

It's all his genius intellect.

Pavard should not be dropped. He's not a bench player. Inzaghi needs to realize that ASAP. Darmian did a good job as RCB but Pavard is the man for the role. Darmian can take his place here and there, but Pavard needs to be treated as the 1st option.
You don't have to tell me. I'm just predicting what Inzaghi is going to do. Obviously Pavard should start most matches.

Updated reports say it will be Darmian for Dumfries. Does Benfica typically play with Joao Mario on the left or David Neres? I assume Di Maria plays on the right, even though he's often on the left for Argentina.

Our first team is not too bad but bench not too great, so we have to score first and relatively early. We will panic if we concede first…

Our bench is much more better than last season.

Much better?

I don’t really understand why everyone seem to think this? Yes we don’t have to put thrash like Gags and Correa on the field anymore. But we had Lukaku on the bench and neither Alexis or Arnautovic showen anything to be named better options yet. Carlos Augusto is a nice one, but Gosens isn’t a shitter either. We have added Frattesi who is a class sub. On the other hand we lost Brozo. Given the fact Skriniar was injured a lot, Pavard/Darmian is a nice depth upgrade.

But much better? I think i have another definition for that.

Great point. I think people are overrating the fact that we don't have to see fucking Correa and Gagliardini anymore. And while I was sick to death of both Dzeko and Lukaku, you're 100% correct in saying that Alexis/Arnautovic isn't an objective upgrade either, if anything they are big downgrades.

People shouldn't be blinded by the way they left or how they're playing at their current clubs - Brozovic, Onana and Skriniar are world class, elite players and losing them is objectively a massive exit of raw quality. The best I can say is that the quality level seems more even now across the squad.

Anyway, I'm going to lose my shit if Inzaghi starts Darmian ahead of Pavard here.

As much as I appreciate Darmian, Pavard is a world class defender, in his prime, perfectly suited to that RCB position who boasts unmatchable pedigree. A World Cup winner, Champions League winner, 4X German Champion. You don't buy a player like that to bench him in the fucking Champions League for Darmian ffs.

On paper maybe the bench is not much better, but in reality Skriniar missed half of the season, Lukaku and Brozovic were injured for some large periods and struggled to get in form. So, for me the bench is much better indeed. Augusto looks better fit for us than Gosens. Cuntdrado is better than Bellanova, and with Pavard available, Darmian also could be used on the wing. Frattesi, Klaassen, Half Sensi, Agoume and Asllani are providing much more depth than last season midfield. About the attack, it still needs time to see how long Arnautivic and Sanchez could be available, and how good are they off the bench.

Important game. Usually when we start showing bad performances the results catch up with those soon, but we didn't do that bad lately (it's only one loss vs Sassuolo that is a disaster). If we play good and win tonight it's a very good sign, we might hit a good form again which we are not in since the derby.

offtopic: We have a lot of depth in midfield. But imo we only have one player who can challenge our starting trio: Frattesi. Sensi, Agoume and Klaassen shouldn't be considered starting material (for different reasons) for a club like Inter. Asllani i rate, but the difference between him and Hakan is still night and day. In defence we have indeed better depht than last season. But that's only because Darmian was, and still is, starting. Otherwise it was a different conversation because Skri was starting and Pavard was (will be) starting and Darmian was (will be) a bench option. D'ambro was a valued member of the squad and Bisseck haven't showed anything to say he's a better option. In attack we had Correa and Lukaku/Dzeko. Alexis is a better fit than Correa imo, but Arnautovic isn't compared to Lukaku/Dzeko (although the first one disapointed big time during his first half season). And yeah on wingbacks it seems like we have much better depht than last season. Cuntdrado is a big upgrade on Bellanova and Augusto is potentially (didn't show it yet imo) better fit than Gosens. It still needs time offcourse, but we can't state already that our bench is 'much better' compared to last seasons.

Regarding the match: A really important home fixure already. A must win for me. Otherwise we make it ourselves really hard in this mediocre group already.

I agree, but those players are better than Gagliardini, who was the first sub at one point of the past season. For instance, Klaassen was decent against Salernitana, and he gave enough rest for Mkhitaryan. The same could be said for Asllani. If he starts vs small teams, he still could be useful and allows Hakan to be rested. When we add and Frattesi, the depth is already bigger than the last season without losing so much of the quality.

But DD played mostly because of Skriniar being unavailable. There is big IF, but IF Pavard stays healthy for the whole season, we are already in a better position than the last. I agree about Bisseck, but bear in mind that Augusto also could be fielded as LCB.

I agree, but there is a small detail. Last season our starting duo was supposed to be Lukaka-Lautaro. For some reasons, that didn't happen till the end, and one of the subs was used as a starter. Now, is a bit different because our starting duo is clicking quite well.
I wouldn't write Arnautivic off. He wasn't so bad apart from one game so far, but some people here expect goals or assists from him, every time when he steps on the field, doesn't matter how many minutes he plays.
