De Gennaro's handling is fantastic . Never let's anything bounce.

I noticed that too. It was almost ridiculous, he glued everything. :D

When it comes to the whole match and our performance, to tell you the truth I wasn't totally happy with it. I mean that clearly they have trained defending as a team. Just like our first team. But the attacking wasn't too creative or imaginative. I would like our youth teams to concentrate more on good attacking play, it develops players more. Now it looked just like there was Mourinho's team out there. :D Tight team defending and fast counters.

But Stevanovic was pretty well and I'd like to see him at least in our pre-season next summer.

Fossati's passing in 3 minutes trumps Stevanovic, Carlsen, Albilec's creativity. :D

yeah, De Gennaro was awsome as well... I didn't think we had good GKs in our primavera, but it seems we have. Great potential in that guy as well.

De Gennaro for Cesar's backup in a few years. Nice Italian home-grown lad.

Not a bad match today, it was just like seeing a young clone of the first team, very tight defending and lightning counter attacks...Pea has been learning from Jose lol.
Di Gennaro was very good, i didn't notice the defense much except a few lightning runs of the number 3 (Biraghi), and some good defending but no attacking of the number 2 (Natalino). Nwankwo impressed me the most, he is a young version of Vieira, we will be safe in his hands in a few years, i'm sure! Crisetig is just like Pirlo, very technical and exact, but not so physical, i enjoyed him though. Stevanovic was another impressive player for me, very hard working trequartista who looks just like Sneijder (except a little quicker and better dribbling), but of course, his ball technique and mental knowledge need developing.
I liked Alibec's teamplay and clinicalness, but i didn't really like Dell'Angello's play at all, yes he knows how to use his body strength very well, but he sucks in overall team-play, he looks just like Luca Toni.

My toughts exactly. They played like Mourinho's side, sometimes I almost saw some first team players on the pitch because of their moves and positioning.

My favourite with Stevanovic and Alibec was Nwankwo, the general of the midfield. Dominant display from him. And yeah, De Gennaro was also impressive as GK.

Crisetig is nothing like Pirlo.

Fossati plays like Pirlo, though.

Damn, I missed the game :(. Totally forgot about it and watched just the last 10 minutes. Considering the result and your comments, it seems that our youngsters had a nice game ;).

Hope to see the same scenario on Saturday :p.

Fossati is definitely the closest to Pirlo. In just a few minutes you could already see his vision and why people compare him to Pirlo. Cristeg actually reminds me a bit of Motta. With a little less physicality of course. He looked comfortable on the ball and wasn't afraid of a challenge. We also got to remember he's only 16 while most out there where 18. Nwankwo was good, if he can work on his first touch passing he will be a very good DM. I think he's co owned with Parma so he will probably be given room to grow there. Stevanovic's got potential, we should loan him to a Serie B or low Serie A team. I didn't see Alibec's first goal but he took the second one well. He should also be loaned. Remember our best forward (Destro) also didn't play today.

Crisetig reminds me of Motta as well.

Destro did not play due to his age? Also, Fossati seems so talented. Why doesn't he start?

Ya Destro's one of the 90 boys.

The only reason I can think that he's not starting is because of the style we're playing. As others were saying they are a carbon copy of the senior team. Fossati is probably not willing to defend and get stuck in like Carlsen, Cristeg, and Nwankwo. Could you see the real Pirlo starting for a Mourinho team?

Supposedly he also has contract problems with us. I hope we don't lose such a talent.

When you're saying that the U-18 played like a Mou's team it's because he wants them to. I read somewhere (can't remember where) that when Mou arrived in Milan one of the first things he did was setting up the Primavera as a clone of the team.

He wants all the youth teams to play with more or less the same formations and tactics as the main team so when the players come up through the ranks they know how to play and adapt to the tactics

Yes, I remember that he also wanted Primavera to play like the first team. Well, seeing as how he started to play with us, I don't think that's a good idea. Players can be taught to defend as a team when they are older age. Defending is more easier than attacking. IMO at least some attacking should be used in Primavera, now it's just like our first team. Team defends together and then individuals attack.

Mourinho talked about the school of football when he spoke about Barcelona. If this is his school of football, I don't want that. :D It doesn't develop our youngsters properly. It just makes them to be good defending unit, but the players individually don't develop because the training is concentrated on team defending.

I actually prefer the youth to play like the senior side. That's the way barca does it and that's why its very easy for their youth team players to integrate.

Actually that was one of the things mou said he wanted to implement at the club. So I am happy if its happening.

Best players are definitely Obiorah,Alibec,Stevanovic,Crisetig and Fossati but also Destro and Caldirola are really good (too bad they coudn't play today).
I can see their place in the first team from the next season, especially the first 3.

But it doesn't do any good to our youth players. They can be taught to defend as a unit when they are older first teamers. That isn't something too hard. What is hard is to teach them to attack as older first teamers if they haven't got the proper training in younger levels.

I'm okay with the idea if the coach doesn't tell the youth team coach to train only defending as a team. I don't like that kind of developmenet of our youth sector. I'm not saying we should turn into Barcelona, but we should aim more to the offensive side of the game in our youth training.
