This is not a thread to throw out formations etc, I am making an enquiry, in search for the real thing. I know we played some sort of 1-4-4-1, but I want to know who played on which position.

Hopefully someone will know. I'm sure that 1 or 2 certain members that no longer post on FI definitely know, but I can hope that someone here might as well :)

Zanetti, Maicon
Sarti Burgnich Fachetti Bedin Guarneri Picchi Jair Mazzola Pieró Suárez Corso.. I know this was our strongest starting line-up back then ;) I don't exactly know wich line-up, I think it was a 1-4-4-1. With Picchi being the first 1, fachetti on LB, Jair as RB, Bedin as DM, Suarez as AM, Mazzola as an attacker.. That's all I have for you. Read it all in an Inter book if you're wondering

Mazzola was a midfielder, and Suarez was the striker iirc

No I'm sure Suarez was a AM, but I'm not so sure about Mazzola now..

EDIT: you're partly right, here it says Mazzola was a midfielder and Suarez also

GK: Sarti
Sweeper: Picchi
CB: Guarneri
RB: Burgnich
LB: Facchetti
DM (marker): Bedin/Tagnin
RW: Jair
CM: Corso
LW: Suarez
AM: Mazzola
FW: Peiro/Milani/Domenghini

Mazzola was the main goal scorer (top scorer in 64 and 65 seasons), the FW spot was heavily rotated. If I'm not mistaken, sometimes we would leave Mazzola up front isolated and replace the FW with another defender.

Found this on a Italian site...but I believe mine is a little more accurate.

I thought Jair was a defender? And now he is a striker? They really played total football back then :p

Jair and Suarez were offensive players from what I remember.

InterSiamoNoi, are you sure that Corso was a forward? From what I know he was a central midfielder, offensive playmaker at most.
