Hello everyone!! I've been lurking here for a while to get some transfer news as of late, and I must say it's getting very exciting!

I'm a Norwegian and have been an Inter fan for about 12 years now. I used to follow English football, but for some reason Serie A appeals more to me these days, and thus it was very odd to see my old favourite team Liverpool beat my more recent hate object number one Milan in the Champions League! I don't have much of input I'm afraid, but I really like this board, and of course I love Internazionale!!

Are you really going to make an avatar for me????? That's just too nice of you!!! If it were to Inter-related, it would have to be Javier Zanetti, since everyone else seems to be on the move all the time :dielaugh: Can't trust anyone these days... Cheers, and congrats on the Olympics!!

If you wonder about Norwegian players, let me know

Well, I'd love to know more about John Carew. He is one of my favourite players, and I'd like to know more about his beginnings and how is perceived in Norway.

John Carew recently signet at Lyon. He first enjoyed regular 1st team top level football in Norway with Vålerenga, before he moved on to Norway's biggest club team Rosenborg in 1999. They paid about 3 million $ for him, and I believe that's the record in our Norwegian league. From there he went to Valencia in 2000, and you may have lost track of him after his stint at Roma was at an end. He's played for Besiktas without any real success before his move to France, and most of us here see him as a bit of a primadonna. There was a scandal last year including a woman who claimed that Carew was the father of her child. Tests were made, and it was true. Prior to that, Liverpool's John Arne Riise and Carew had a fight when Norway was training, resulting in a short term ban from the national team for Carew. The two have since buried the hatchet, and Carew is now once again Norway's natural 1st choice as striker in the dreaded 4-5-1 formation Norwat keeps using. This does not mean that Norway's coach Hareide is completely satisfied. He keeps trying out tons of different strikers in training matches, and Azar Karadas (currently in Benfica) may eventually take over in a 4-5-1 system.

Thanks for that :) I didn't lose track of him, I know he moved to Besiktas, scored about 13 goals in the first half, but struggled when Del Bosque was let go, and he was upset that it happened. I believe he will do well in Lyon, they have awesome playmakers there.

I didn't know about that scandal, and it's sad, I thought he was better than that. About the NT, I remember him having a was of words with good old Solskajer, it was about who's is the best striker. Did they make up after that as well? Too bad Solskajer is finished!

Also, I wanted to ask you about an Omani GK who played in Norway. His name is Habsi, he moved recently to Bolton, and was wondering if he had a good impact as it's claimed in Norway.

I have no idea what came out of the Solskjær vs Carew feud, but it was all lighthearded.

Ali al-Habsi has made a very good impact indeed in Lyn. Along with Arason, Vålerenga's Icelandic keeper, he's been the best keeper here for the last couple of seasons. I'm sure al-Habsi will do very well in Bolton, and that Lyn will be crap without him. Lyn are doing quite well now, but without al-Habsi they're out of the run for a Norwegian league medal. That leaves Start (this year's surprise), Brann (my team), Vålerenga, Rosenborg (who have been wonderfully crap), and possibly Viking (Roy Hodgson is their manager) in the fight for the top positions. With al-Habsi I would have mentioned Lyn as well. Without him, they're out.

Good old Hodgson :D He is in Norway now? Good luck to him, I love this guy's character, he coaches everywhere!

Great to hear about Ali. I knew he was really good, but it was nice to hear that from a Norwegian league follower. The media in Oman pumps him up, so I was looking for an objective point of view, and it seems he was truly great there.

He is a nice person as well, and very humble. I just hope it doesn't get to his head, and he remains calm and not over himself.
