Alright, so in case you have been wondering where the hell has the Great Han been over the past 3 days, I'm in the process of moving to the United States of America. So far, it's been kinda OK.

Until today.

I have the worst day ever since 5 May 2002. My brother's car was broken into and I lost all my f*cking documents and cash (Don't ask how much...). I'm kinda scared, confused and angry right now since all my passport, immigration documents and school stuff are all f*cking stolen. What's worse, I've got all of my US$ in my bag, including all the donations Forza Inter member has made. This is totally f*cked up. Don't worry though, I take full responsibility and will pay that money back myself. :(

School was f*cked up today too. I found out that most of the credit I managed to transfer is unusable or whatever $hit because the things I studied in Singapore doesn't necessarily match with those subjects I wanna get an excemption.

So, it's been a totally f*cked up day. I just hope that I won't get deported or something for losing my passport, I-20, I-94 and F1 documents. Anybody has any experience in this field and can advise me what to do? :(

I shouldn't be too active in the forums until 9 September 2006, where I'll move to a new house and get a proper comp. I'm using a friend's PC right now in her house.

So, that's all for now. Handoyo, out.

Oh God, bro, I am so sorry to hear this, not the way you want to start an experience.

I honestly don't know what to tell you since I don't know much about US laws. But I don't think they will deport you or anything, it may just be hassling and troublesome to get new papers.

Anyway bro, just stay strong and keep your head up. Just believe that it will all work out at the end and god willing it will.

Forza!

That's a pretty bad experience, Han. Well, take heart. :)

How much money was lost, anyway?

Ciao,
Tim

first u have to contact ur embassy to have a paper as a replacement for ur passport , then go to the imigration office in ur uni and ask them to have new I-20 and I-94. It would take two weeks to have a new I-20

Han its actually better losing I-20 once you are in US, rahter than if you were back home. It would have taken you 3 or 4 months, to get another I-20 back home. ANd you couldnt have flown to US with out it. One of my relatives had immigrated to US, and his bag was stolen at the airport. The bag contained his passport and all the visa documents. the didnt let him in!!!!, they deported him back, and told him to apply for a new visa. He kept saying that how could he have travelled this far, without anything, and the US immigration office would have some record of him. but they didnt listen. Back him, the US embassy called him, and told him they would send him another visa, without much delay as soon as he makes a new passport. he told them to fuc*k off. he had enough :D.

See han, thats the reason I was tellin you to come to Canada

Thanks a lot for all the comments, guys. :)

It's very unfortunate that the incident happened on a Friday evening too. I gotta wait until Monday before I can sort this out.

2T, thanks for the advice. I totally forgot about the International Student Service. :wallbang:

Sasuke, I'm living in Pleasant Hill right now but will be moving to San Francisco on 9 September. I'm enrolling into University of San Francisco.

Tim, like I said, don't ask.:cry: Seriously, just thinking about it makes me sick, it's the whole lotta cash my parents gave me for my trip. (Thankfully, the money in the bank is untouched).

Khaled, thank you very much for your offer. I would appreciate it if you can give me the slightest clue. :)

Hopefully, by 9 September I can resolve all my issues and be back to this community as soon as possible. :)

Sucks to hear this, Han.

I insist that you keep your head up, bro. Life in America is tough but I'm sure if you open up on campus (no pun intended, since it's a gay city.. lol) in San Fran that you'll have an incredible time.

Although your probably like me IRL and see the glass half empty, but try not to fill your mind with a bunch of negative "what if?" questions. Take what the new life throws you on a day to day basis. It'll be tough at times, nothing you can't overcome though.

The feeling of losing such things is terrible. If your anything like me, you won't feel correct untill Monday when you sort things out.

Ciao.

Sorry han to hear that...good luck bro.

But San Fran is the best city in NA...well, apart of New York maybe, which I don't consider NA, but still...San Fran is really nice.

Try In&Out Burger once you're there...the best burger fast food thing ever.

Hey Handoyo, hope everything sorts out for you....

The key thing was staying in this country....

But you're not Middle Eastern, so things won't be too difficult for you. (the reality of the situation)

They'll give you a new one when you go to the office, and everything will sort out.

Trust me, if you didn't belong in the country, they would have found you by now...they keep things like this very organized nowadays. :)

By the way if you ever come to New York give me a holler..you know where to find me

Is that why they have about 10M illegal immigrants?

And yeah, SF is the coolest city in the US, a little bit California and a little bit NorthWest!

Well I'll say I'm not counting the Mexican situation.

I am referring to individuals who are entering the country through ships/planes. Not wading the Rio Grande or jumping a border fence.

As for that part of the situation, what I am talking about, it is true that pre-911 a lot of people were here that weren't supposed to be. But what I am specifically referring to is the clamp up after the 9/11 attacks, which is 100%. In fact, they regularly hunt down people who are not guilty of illegal entrance, at which point they obviously find out. For example, a group of students from Egypt who didn't show up to their first class in Colorado. Instantly hunted down, and it turns out they were just chilling and skipping class.

Wow man really sorry to hear about what happened Han, hopefully everything will work out for you.

Like G-tan said, keep your head up and things will eventually get sorted out. Might not be the best of starts to a turning point in your life but hey at least in a few years you might be able to look back on all this and laugh. That sort of stuff is what keeps me going when something similar happens to me.

Thanks for the offer Pulsie. We gotta admit that we've never been the best of friends but it's really nice for you to offer me that. :) Be careful what you wish for, I may end up in New York before you know it. :D I'll make sure I PM/e-mail you if I do so. :)

Mehdi, thanks for the food tip, you have no idea how much I appreciate that. So far the best fast food burger I've ever tasted is MOS Burger, you guys ever heard of that? The food in San Fran isn't that bad but it's nothing compared to Food Paradise Singapore. :star: But the food size here is SICK. Even a glutton like me has barely able to finish a meal properly.

And for the rest of you guys, thanks, once again. The day after tomorrow is judgment day for me, I guess. :undecide:

By the way, as hard as I thought it would be, I'm starting to think it's more dangerous to live in the US than in Indonesia. :D My brother's car has been smashed twice this year and when this f*cked up incident happen, there was a man across the street who just got stabbed by a knife in the stomach. :D At least I never saw this things life in Indonesia. :D

Alright, Handoyo, out. :)
