I chuckled at how the commentators described Slovakia as 'devoid of any ideas' during their match against Paraguay yesterday, but after watching the Italy struggle against NZ, I think it might be a more apt description of the Azzurri. They just looked hopeless, and never looked like scoring, apart from the 2 potshots at goal from Montolivo and De Rossi. Marchisio on the left is a disgrace; contributed ZERO to the Italian attack. Camoranesi provided a bit of spark in the second half, and so did Di Natale, but Camo is just past it.

Italy is going to get raped IF they make it through the group stages.

You can never tell with Italy...they were in a much worse situation in Euro 2008, but made it out of the group and only lost on penalties to the eventual champions...

Facts lol?? The FACT is Spain has one loss after one game and Italy has zero after two matches, so how the hell does a game in hand make any difference?

Like 'Its On Man' said, even a win this game cannot erase their loss in the first match...

Comparing Italy not having lost is better than Spain losing...when they've only played one match, is ignoring facts...It's analogous to claiming 'Well, Italia, has more pts than Spain'...After equal number of matches, let's check back otherwise it's pointless to compare

When the team in question has the advantage then it is a perfectly fine comparison. If Italy had an extra game to play (which the could lose) then you would have a point.
