1) I don't if this would be appropriate, but I have an idea:

I don't know if you saw City of God, which is a great movie about violence in Rio de Janeiro's slums. See the movie and choose a part that is not too violent just to show the people what some of these kids have to go through.

Then present Adriano as an example of a kid that was saved from utter hell and mayhem by soccer. And how now he is a nice person that isn't violent or anything (don't show the Caneira punch though.)

So Adriano is an example to these kids that growing up in a tough environment isn't the end of the world. And that you don't have to be in gangs to make it in the world.

If it wasn't for soccer globalization, would the Adriano example be possible?

2) You can talk about how soccer is bridging the gap between some natives and immigrant offspring in Europe. You can use Zidane as an example and show that a kid that grew up in Marseille's worse slump can get the respect of a nation (and the world) by hardwork. He too could've ended up in a gang or just grow up as a frustrated kid with no identity.

Or you can mention the Netherland's NT defender Boulahrouz. He too grew up in difficult circumstances and had to take care of his family since his dad died when he was only 16. He too could've taken the easy road and be in a gang, sell drugs etc.

Those two also showed some doubters that not all Immigrants are bad. And kids like them can learn from them and look up to them and know that hard work pays off.

If it wasn't for soccer globalization, would the Zidane example be possible?

There are a lot of other issues.

As an example..you can talk about the english league, where clubs like Bolton and Arsenal have hardly any english player in their starting 11, or Inter without Italians last season. Or the scouting system in france of african players

here are some other good articles
