Happy Birthday Beppe Bergomi! :proud: :proud: Without a doubt one of the greatest CBs and THE greatest manmarker of all time. One of my favourite all time footballers.

He stayed with us while he was world class and ANY top club would have wanted him, but he didn't care because he was an interista. He suffered while we suffered, he cried when we cried, he cheered when we cheered. Stuck in a terrible Inter team under a ridiculous president while battling on the pitch to defend the integrity and respect of our colours.

One can only dream for a player like him at Inter, let alone the Italy national team. Forza lo zio!

Inter idol reveals he nearly joined AC Milan

Although he went on to become a legend for the Nerazzurri, Giuseppe Bergomi’s career nearly saw him play for some of the club’s biggest rivals
by Gazzetta World Staff, @GazzettaWorld 08/02/2016, 23:09

Noted for a career that saw him only feature for Inter, Giuseppe Bergomi admits things could have been different as AC Milan tried to sign him as a youngster.

The 52-year-old went on trial with the Rossoneri, but they decided against offering him a contract due to some health concerns.

Bergomi eventually moved to Inter and made his professional debut in the 1979/1980 season, though there was a third team that also showed interest in acquiring his service.

“I want on trial with Milan,” he told FC Inter News Mag. “They wanted me but due to a rheumatic disorder, they decided not to sign me.

“I recovered from it and two years later I was playing for my local club and several sides wanted me. At that point I picked Inter for several reasons. They wanted me at all costs and I liked their facilities.

“It was the best decision for me even though several sides were interested including Milan, Juventus and of course Inter.”

Bergomi retired in 1999 after making 519 appearances in Serie A for the Nerazzurri.

Legends added to Hall of Fame
By Football Italia staff

Claudio Ranieri, Silvio Berlusconi, Giuseppe Bergomi, Paulo Roberto Falcao, Nils Liedholm, Paolo Rossi and Cesare Maldini are added to the Italian Football Hall of Fame.

Another 10 figures were inducted today into the ceremonial group that was started by the FIGC in 2011.

They are people who have made an indelible mark on the history of calcio.

The 1982 World Cup winners Bergomi and Rossi were added along with Roma legend Falcao, Leicester City manager Ranieri and Milan President Berlusconi.

Also included were referee Graziano Cesari and women’s football star Melania Gabbiadini – the sister of Napoli striker Manolo.

Honorary awards were announced for Liedholm, Giulio Campanati and Maldini.

The presentation ceremony will be held in January and the winners are asked to hand over a symbolic item representing their careers that will remain in the Museo del Calcio at Coverciano.

it occurred to me that some peple might not know why Bergomi is nicknamed "lo zio", "the uncle". it's because he wore a mustache when he was 18 so although he was very young he totally looked like your average uncle:

Throwing shade on the squad after Viola defeat (link):

“Inter have shown they have a great mental weakness. It’s a team that melts at the first hurdle. Until a month ago it was said that Inter just needed some tweaking to become truly competitive, but now it is not so. They lack a leader and without one even the youngest are struggling.”

Giuseppe Bergomi: “We Inter fans do not deserve all of this”0 Comments

Giuseppe Bergomi

Inter legend Beppe Bergomi expressed his bitterness regarding the sacking of Stefano Pioli as Inter coach in an interview with Radio 24.

“I’m very sorry, we [Inter fans] are different from all the other fans out there and do not deserve this. The question now remains as to who will replace him. Inter’s history witnesses that the club wins when a strong person is in charge of the squad such as Bersellini, Herrera and Mourinho. Luciano Spalletti is someone I like a lot and Antonio Conte and Diego Simeone are great tacticians, whoever you choose you have to choose well.”

The former Inter captain also shared his opinion on how the whole situation has been handled by new owners Suning: “The distance between Italy and China does not allow for immediate interventions. After Genoa vs Inter, i was expecting them to send someone we could all talk to, but instead they sent Gary Medel who does not speak Italian.”

---

Go fuck yourself. You and Inter fans like you deserve it all. You berated Frank in your position as a media spokesperson and then celebrated when he was fired because according to you, he deserved it, even though it made the club look like a joke. Then when Pioli came in, your focus suddenly shifted from blaming the coach, to the players, as if they aren't the same exact players who were doing the exact same shit under Frank.. Hypocrite.

I'm glad it happened this way. I'm glad the Chinese listened to idiots like you and it fucking crashed and burned. It will never happen again.

The only thing good firing Pioli is to see how the Pioli dick riders shut their dirty spermful mouths.

That can't be right, how could he be a locker room leader if he can't even speak to half the squad?

According to Caressa (Sky italia commentator), Bergomi always saw Skriniar as a very good defender. He always has a good eye when it comes to judge a defender and dont needs much to tell you what kind of defender this is. (Does he pay much attention? Is he unsure?) If someone needs a defender, call Bergomi - said Caressa.

So in poor words...
