Giovanni Martusciello (born 19 August 1971) was in charge as technical collaborator of Luciano Spalletti at Inter Milan.

Most of the credits of how Inter have incredibly improved its defense going from allowing 49 goals in 2016-2017 to just 30 this year go to Spalletti and Skriniar, the best central defender in Serie A and top five in Europe. However, there is one more person that works tirelessly behind the scenes and should be given the same amount of praise and credits, we are talking about defensive guru Giovanni Martusciello. He left Empoli in 2017 and joined Inter to become Spalletti’s technical collaborator with defensive expertise.

He was the mastermind behind Spalletti`s efficient defensive system and I find it quite surprising that nobody on FIF is talking about this:
Martusciello rescinded his contract with INTER last week so he could become Maurizio Sarri’s new right-hand man at Juventus, saving the club €1.4 million.

Sarri wanted him already when at Chelsea, as they know each other from their Empoli days.

Many could make an argument that it was Martusciello the biggest reason that Inter did show a lot of improvement defensively last season. Is nobody worried that juBe just grabbed him from under our noses?

Seems like it was destined to happen. I'm sure Conte will want to bring in his "guy" as well. Martusciello is very much Sarri's buddy and he'll want familiar coaches around him as takes over Juventus.

I’ve talked about him few times. I always said it’s because of him that our defense was that good.
Spalleti has no clue about defense...he’s the last one I’d give credit for when it came to our defensive solidity. When Spalleti was at Roma, they were very shaky defensively, guess why? :)

He only came here because Sarri went to London and he did not want to leave Italy. I’m sure Conte knows a thing or two about building a solid defense.
