About Sneijder and if he should play behind the strikers.. MM: Do not get me started!!!

http://translate.google.com/transla...w.fcinternews.it/?action=read&idnotizia=56699

that comment just made my day lol
I would like to see the faces of people who've been saying that "it's just pre-seasons" "you shouldn't judge the coach from the pre seasons".

I was under impression that MM agrees with Gasp's tactics and is supporting him. But after this interview, Gasp could be gone any second lol

Moratti better let Gasp know he better shape up and get the team back into top form and screw the 3-4-3 formation and go to a 4-3-3 or 4-1-2-1-2. How many small clubs do we have to lose to before Gasp realizes its not working he favored formation, can't work with current players and its anti productive for inter. Gasp needs to swallow his pride and listen to everyone else in the world that looks at inter and knows the 3-4-3 can't work.

I didn't see the match, but losing 2-3 to Chievo is completely unacceptable. Our defence have been looking shabby all along and Gasp should make changes.

Don't want tot hink about where we'll end up if we lose vs Chievo.

I guess we'd end up exactly where we are today.....

President, given the defeat against Chievo at Monza on Saturday night, do you think a three-man defense is the best for this team?

"Gasperini is working on this and with this type of defense... eventually it will change."

it needs to change before we play CL :work:

By 'change', is he implying that our results will change (i.e. improve) or that Gasp will change his system (to a 4 back)?

Roma has a serious project going, Napoli has remained virtually the same but with great acquisitions like Inler.

Roma? with a Cassetti, Burdisso, Juan, Heinze defense  with the full-rookie coach L.E.? with lots of moral problems coming from president, coming from totti's postition etc.

They sold 4-5 starters and only Bojan and Stek seems to be a decent addition.

Napoli will be killed with CL-football. They had a fantastic, injury-less season last year. They wont be in TOP4 im sure.

This is hilarious really I mean its not like MM didn't know Gasp prefers 3-4-3 and wouldn't suit our team when he hired him right...what I don't get is why hire him in the first place?

why not go with Delio Rossi instead?

On Football-itala.net:

GASP TOLD TO PLAY PAZZINI:

Inter chief Massimo Moratti has offered Gian Piero Gasperini some tactical advice. “Giampaolo Pazzini must play.”

The Nerazzurri official made the demand following Inter’s 3-2 loss to Chievo in a friendly at the weekend.

Pazzini, signed from Sampdoria in January, started the game on the bench but did come on to score a late consolation goal.

“Pazzini must play,” oil baron Moratti told reporters. “He’s a striker who scores a mountain of goals.”

The Italian will be in competition with Diego Milito and, with all probability, Diego Forlan for a starting shirt this term.

Pazzini has scored 11 goals in 17 Serie A games for the Nerazzurri.

Meanwhile, Moratti was also asked for his opinion on the positioning of Wesley Sneijder and the three-man defence.

“Sneijder? Don’t let me talk….” he continued. “As for the defence, things may change.

“Any irrefutable offers for Wesley? Perhaps from Milan,” he joked.

Inter are also expected to confirm the loan arrival of Andrea Poli from Sampdoria at some stage on Monday.

Yeah, seriously why would Moratti hire Gasperini when he knows that his favorite formation is 3-4-3?

If this article turns out to be true, then Moratti got to be either 1-ignorant, 2-stupid.
I've been saying all along :p

So now even MM is against the "experts" of the forum who say the 343 is good!

nothing wrong with 3-4-3, its just that our players suck. we will suck too if we play 4-3-1-2. wait and see.

I'm surprised some people are siding by MM.

I'm not with Gasperini either, but how the hell is he already not satisfied?

First of all, it's all his decision.

He got a guy that's been playing 3-4-3 for years, and ALL managers won't change their preferred formation unless their job is on the line. And he didn't even supply him with the players needed for 3-4-3. Yes, I know that Gasperini should suit the formation to his players, not suit the players to his formation.

Nonetheless, hiring a manager is a huge deal, and if you're hiring one, you should be 100% convinced that they're the best suited for the job.

As much as I dislike Gasperini I can't help but feel he's getting treated unfairly by his employer.

I'm not sympathizing with MM AT ALL. He brought this to all of us. Hired a manager who isn't well suited to the team, then sold our best player. Never got suitable replacements. Then blames it on the manager. How ridiculous :palm:

I'm kind of with Uni...not sure if Moratti meant the actual formation would change, but that eventually Gasp will find his way. Who knows...

IF Moratti is pissed, pretty sure he would go straight to Gasp himself instead of the media. Not really Moratti to send messages through the media.

Again. Who knows..

Bzzt....... WRONG!! We will not "suck" in a 4-3-1-2 or the 4-2-3-1 depending on what the game requires or even half requires, because this team is accustomed working for each other, suffering and being strong at the back....

3-4-3 was doomed to fail and will always be a failure.

I'm also glad no one wanted to bring in the players this fucking quack wanted, because then we'd be going through what Liverpool supporters have had to suffer, replacing quality with less talented players and having to ship them the fuck out. Now Liverpool had to turn around and spend millions because of the fucking joke transfers Benitez made, and what we would have surely made if we listened to this cunt hole Assperini.

If you couldn't see something was wrong with the latter preseason games, if you didn't see something was wrong when ManCity blew out our booty hole, stick to holding pom-poms in your hand like a fairy cheerleader. Do your sing and dance whoopfeedoo and remain ILLITERATE! Sit down and shut the fuck up, because we have been DREADFUL!

If you think for one second I would sit down and watch this motherfucker destroy my team and remain quiet!

Gasp is a coach and in this business, you are paid to get results regardless of the situation. You are not paid to showcase what you know/think you know or to showcase your idealism. You are paid to get results! FFS, that is why he was fired from Genoa in the first place

Maybe MM and Branca are at fault for making the assumption that Gasp is smart enough to know this already (like they did with Rafa, who proved he wasn't smart enough). Either way, this is the coaching business and Gasp should know this. I cannot think of a single top level coach who's coached different teams but always used the exact same formation/tactical setup.

Of course MM is getting frustrated because things are looking like fuckin deja vu. We had Jose who found the right balance between defense, midfield, and attack. Then we got Rafa who was obsessed with midfield (possession) but was impotent on defense and toothless in attack. Then we got Leo who was terrible at defense, but controlled matches in midfield and was ultra creative in attack.

Now, so far, it seems Gasp is obsessed with midfield (possession) just like rafa, and is sacrificing defensive stability (backbone of Inter) and offensive quality. Almost all preseason games have a similar feature to it, no matter what "tactics" are employed:

(1) Extremely fragile defense. Way too open/exposed. Opponents getting several opportunities on goal
(2) Ridiculously toothless attack. We're hardly creating shit in attack. Similar to rafa days, we are struggling to get BEHIND defenses.

The jury is still out on Gasp as he is still tinkering and learning the characteristics of our players. How he fares near October will be more indicative of his level of intelligence.

And I don't want to hear shit about getting the players he wants. He should not get the players he wants. You have to prove you can manage the squad, the expectations, the high pressure e.t.c., before you can earn that type of trust. All good coaches can make do with what they have. Think about national team coaches. They don't have a fucking choice. They have to manage what they have.

Great post. I just want to add that it's not only about "the players that Gasp wants" but also "the players that Inter need."
