Haha I did this a while back, but I couldn't figure out how to do the average formula with a list of numbers greater than 20 or 30, can't remember which.

So I gave up!

It's just =Average(xxx:xxx) whether it's 2 cells, 20 cells or 20 million cells.

For cells that has N/A rating (X rating in this case), you fill them with nothing, leave it blank.

That's it really.

Go and do it, and when your list breaks the formula when it gets to high, you can shout out, "Vito is always right!"


If I do a range like you say, it should work, but you need Frisko to blank out all the X's in order for that to work

Vito, part of my job is to analyze the sales of the company and trust me and I've done daily averages on the annual sales for each region. That's 365 days = cells right there.

What I think made the problem for you is this part that I mentioned "For cells that has N/A rating (X rating in this case), you fill them with nothing, leave it blank." If you put a letter X in that cell and you include it in your average function, I'm pretty sure it will give you an error.

In order to avoid the X's, so I could keep the same look, I input the numbers one by one in the average function. If you do it this way, 30 is the limit. Of course using a range, anything can be done.

I guess I was just being lazy...

Problem with your file Han is that it doesn't fit on my screen unless I zoom right out, and I do a screen print to turn it into a jpeg.

I think this is for the league only, he was sent off a few times and all that. We should have had a bigger lead and we wasted some easy matches. If you factor in CL and the Coppa then yes he will get a 10.
