I didn't see a thread to discuss this player if the mods want to take it down no worries go right ahead. We've been linked with him for a long time and very recently after the Lucas fiasco. I think he has a lot to add to this team and if he can learn to adapt to a wider role he can provide a lot of versatlity and creativity in a number of ways to this squad. He has pace, good feet, a nice shot, and very good vision. Similar to a Pastore at Palermo.

Question is do u spend a good amount of cash on a player who has the same traits of several players on our squad; and whose role is already covered in the side?

I love Ramirez, but i'm not sure he is the player we need atm..

I can't say I go out of my way to watch Bologna play that often, but from what i've seen he seems to be a slightly better version of Alvarez? And perhaps the biggest difference between the two is finishing. and like Alvarez he lacks pace. Anyone care to enlighten us on what he would add to the team that we don't already have?

I'm also not sure if we really need Ramirez. He's more like AM than winged forward. He's not exactly super fast or explosive. We already have Sneijder, Alvarez and Coutinho who can play as AM. Okay, Coutinho suits well to the wing too but still, IMO there's no spots for Ramirez. IMO Coutinho should go ahead of anyone after Sneijder when it comes to playing spots in the offensive zone not named center forward. Ramirez would be costly investment so really not sure if it's reasonable.

Agree, Ramirez has great talent, but he is more AMF than a Winger.

I think that if we get him, Starma will play like this:

Jonathan, Silvestre, Chivu, Zanetti
Guarin, De Jong, Cambiasso
Ramirez, Sneijder
Milito

Bench: Castelazzi, Frog, Nagatomo, Ricky, Cou, Palacio, Mudingay/Obi.

I know that everyone, including me, doesn't want to see Chivu in the starting line up, but i think Strama really like's him.

Our defence were so slow last season that every litlle better player who played against us looked like Ussain Bolt. It's 100% true that he is slighty better version of Ricky Alvarez, really not needed.

In Offense we have Cou, Sneijder, Alvarez, Milito and Palacio, we need Ramirez!

It's said a worldclass club should have at least 2 worldclass players for each position, so with Ramirez there is more fight for the starting spots, thats good!
