IMO his decision making is too slow and that makes it hard for him to perform in bigger leagues.

Indeed he seems to stick to the right flank, where he seems to get alot of time on the ball for a guy who plays with one foot. He does have a nice touch though, wish he was more expolsive.

These 35-40m€ price tags are what it should be!

That's the starting point and the clubs can start their bidding at 20-25m€ and we start from there.

I don't think Inter even consider keep this player and, honestly, I don't think there will be a line outside Inter HQ for Gabigol. We may be able to get a little bit more money from Flamengo because he is now the idol of the supporters but that's about it. 25 mln + bonus on re-sale. Unless we're lucky and he plays well agains Liverpool. I would go on Tonali with the cash.

Inter set asking price for Gabigol: the latest

The excellent performances and the substantial contribution in Flamengo's triumphs in the Copa Libertadores and Brazilian league increased the value of Inter's loanee Gabigol. The 23-year-old, who with his goals has become one of the most relevant strikers in Brazil, could be an important asset for the Nerazzurri in view of the January transfer window.

The Brazilian is poised to return in Italy after his successful loan spell at Flamengo, despite Inter preferring to avoid this scenario. Last summer, the Nerazzurri had in fact already accepted a €16 million bid plus a 20% sell-on clause from the player's current club, Flamengo, but then the deal fell through because the Brazilian club wasn't able to find a definitive solution from a financial standpoint. Following Gabigol's brilliant achievements, the Nerazzurri decided to set a higher asking price in the region of 20-25 million euros - a sum that Flamengo will have to pay in order to keep the striker.

Why? Gabriel Jesus plays for Man City and he's not really a better player.

Gabriel Jesus is faster than Barbosa, a significantly better dribbler than Barbosa, and frankly more there mentally than Barbosa. The only comparison I see between the two is that they're both mediocre finishers who happen to score a lot of "sloppy" goals. Barbosa in the Premier League would get run circles around by faster, stronger, defenders. At least Jesus can challenge defenders 1 v 1 and beat a high press.

It's not even close. There's not a team in the PL that Barbosa could score ten goals on, bar Liverpool. Jesus would score about ten per year on just about any PL team (has averaged about 8 while playing for City's loaded lineup).

Fun fact: Jesus is one year younger than Barbosa yet somehow ten years more mature.

He's a better dribbler yes, but not a better finisher. Also, I did say that Barbosa needs to become mentally stable in order to pull that off. That's his biggest weakness.

“We see Gabigol the same way as Lautaro, a player who is growing year by year. His loan ends in December, after which we’ll carefully evaluate what to do with him. It’s unlikely he’ll be part of our project, but he has several proposals and we’ll evaluate it all carefully along with the player.”

So we are linked with a promising midfielder from Uruguay who plays for Flamengo and apparently he is the kind of midfielder that we need (complete midfielder kind of like Barella). Also the agent of the player is the father of Matias Fonseca, an Inter primavera player

Neither Brescia, nor Politano or Gabriel would accept that move.

Good, this should help us recoup most of the investment.

'Way below €22m' for Gabigol

Flamengo Vice-President Marcos Braz reveals his club has successfully negotiated a price “well below €22m” for Inter loanee Gabriel Barbosa.

The Brazilian striker is currently preparing to face Liverpool in the Club World Cup Final on Saturday, but his future continues to be a topic of interest.

Now, one of their chiefs have confirmed that they have already agreed a fee to sign their top goalscorer permanently.

“We will immediately resume talks for Gabigol after the Club World Cup Final,” Braz told Fox Sports.

“The discussions with Inter are fine. It’s a project that has worked and we want it to continue.

“With Inter, things have been going well for three or four months. A price was negotiated three months ago, there seems to be no change there.

“We are very optimistic about Gabriel. The figure is well below €22m.”

However, Calciomercato.com argues the delay in an announcement is because Gabigol is waiting for an offer from Europe.

That would likely appease the Nerazzurri, given the prospect of better bids coming their way, alhough the report accepts he will remain at Flamengo if no such offers arrive.

* I expect Marotta to include a significant "percentage of future transfer fee" in case current transfer fee will be under €30m.
