Thought I'd leave this here, if anyone of you doubts my judgment for opening this I would like you to refer to the flag near my username.

Apparently we're replacing Ranocchia with some Sainsbury chap who plays for Jiangsu so basically we still have 5 defenders.

Edit: Our Mercato so far feel free to correct me.

In: Gagliardini, Sainsbury (loan)
Out: Felipe Melo, Jovetic (loan), Miangue (loan), Gnoukouri (loan), Yao (loan), Ranocchia (loan).

A Roma based paper Centro Suono Sport(,never heard of them before tbh) claims dramatically that we could get Manolas now if Spalletti is down with it...

Socceroo Trent Sainsbury linked with shock move to Inter Milan: reports

Socceroo Trent Sainsbury has been linked with a shock move to Serie A giants Inter Milan in the latest from deadline day.

According to Gianluca DiMarzio, the Jiangsu Suning has been identified by the Nerazzurri as a replacement for Andrea Ranocchia, who is set to move to English Premier League outfit Hull City on loan.

The 25-year-old has spent the past year in China with Jiangsu Suning, after crossing from Dutch club PEC Zwolle on a three-year deal.

Both Inter and Jiangsu share the same Chinese owners, the Suning Holdings Group.

The Nanjing-based group – one of the largest privately owned retailers in China – bought a 68.55 per cent controlling share midway through last year.

The move comes as somewhat of a shock for both parties, but Sainsbury’s future in China had been cast into doubt ever since the implementation of new foreign player rules.

Chinese clubs could previously recruit five foreigners, one of which had to be from the Asian Football Confederation.

This rule has been scrapped altogether, with clubs now able to sign five foreigners of any background, but only start three on the pitch at any time and a max of five in the 18-man match day squad. Previously, clubs could field three foreigners plus an Asian player.

So we're getting him because he can't be a starter for Jiangsu anymore? :palm:

Sainsbury will bring that Australian underdog spirit that the team doesn't need.

I've seen some clips on the tube and this Aussie chap looks better than Frog there lel
I know even my grandma can look great there :yao:
However his passing is very decent,he can jump,he is rather fast(more than Frog for sure) doesn't lose himself on the pitch a' la Frog...

UEFA will be ROTFL that FFP scared Inter into buying a Jiangsu reject

Do we even need a replacement for Ranocchia? Andreolli is higher on our hierarchy of defenders and even he never plays.

FCInter1908: Inter rejected a 30m bid for Candreva

FCInter1908.it reveal that Inter rejected a 30m bid for Antonio Candreva from an unnamed club. Candreva is viewed as a key player by Pioli and is therefore indispensable.

Source: FCInter1908.it

Edit: The offer was from Chelsea.

FcInter1908.it says we refused an offer from Chelsea for Candreva for around 30mil

Mistake from us if true as we won't see such an offer from him again...We will record a - for him when he will be a Palacio case and everyone will beg him to leave
We could have bought a younger player like Berardi(if Sass would budge) and gained some + for FFP purposes...
But i get Pioli not wanting to lose a well integrated puzzle at this point
It ain't good changing starters too much mid season and ok he has assist value for us... 1 out of 100 crosses finds Icardi and he puts it home
