Sandro's brother, Ferrucio writes a book called IL TERZO INCOMODO, where he reveals all the players of Helenio Herrera's Grande Inter of the 1960 took steroids in their coffees. In 2004, Moratti sued him for this and apparently Ferruccio just won the case in court.

My friends keep busting my balls about this saying the Moratti family are just as dirty as Berlusconi, Moggi etc. I even heard Facchetti's death was related to some of the steroids he was taking in those years.

Can anyone shed some light on this shit?

Next question
I remember there was a thread in this forum where I read this before.

Too tired to look up which, but I'm sure I read it here years ago.

Some legitimate points made in the article. Facchetti's death could be related to it. We never know.

I wouldn't be so quick to deny it. Sometimes the truth can be difficult to accept.

i have read that lots of Grande Inter players' (Picchi, Facchetti etc.) death (in some cancers) can be related to this. But source is not so reliable, i think.

The fact of the matter is, there had to be a number of clubs doping their players back then when doping tests were not that closely administered or even made, what makes not think that Juve wasn't doping its players...or Real...or Benfica...or Celtic ;) ?

LOL you say back then like it was 20 years ago. He died in 2006...Life expectancy for male Italians from 2005-2010 is 78 years old.

14 years under average, is quite a bit...

He was also among the healthier Italian males. Former footballer, didn't look obese, didn't seem to be an alcoholic or do illegal drugs.

He should be above average life expectancy.

well, many people dies at 64, it's not Fachetti dies at 40 or 45 years old..
If we look at the age piramid in the USA in 1997
http://geography.about.com/library/weekly/aa071497.htm

I think probably in the USA there are around 40 % people die before reaching that age.

Why are you looking at USA? He was Italian...Italians live longer than Americans.

For an athlete to die at 64, it is kinda like a regular person dying at 45. He should be in top shape compared to other people.

Well here is a stat for you...

In 2006, 19.8% of the population in Italy was aged 65 or older. That is a crazy percentage!

Only country higher is Japan at 20%. In comparison, USA has 12.4%!
