Goalkeeper of the season
J.Cesar has established himself firmly as Inter's #1, disposing Toldo. And it's great to see that he's gained further respect even among those who were pro-Toldo.
Defender of the season
:| Tough one to decide. Matrix's defensive form towards the end of the season were horrible, although he scored as much as Vieri used to do. Maicon at the right was phenomenal. In the end, I'd go for Matrix as he was stupendous apart for just a couple of months.
Midfielder of the season
Another tough one. J.Zanetti ensured stability in the midfield and Figo was the most dangerous offensively but I'd go for Stankovic, who gave a bit of both.
Striker of the season
He may not shine towards the end of the season due to his injury, but there is no doubt that this accolade belongs to Ibrahimovic.
Player of the season
15 goals, 8 assists, all of them decisive; again, this award goes undoubtedly to Ibrahimovic.
Under-achiever of the season
I don't know if I should Adriano here because I honestly didn't expect him to achieve anything this season even from the get-go.
But since he's still highly regarded by most, he 'wins' this one.
Worst player of the season
Another easy one, Adriano. His form was so ridiculous that we sent him to Brazil to let him party and supposedly regain the proper mentality...ARF!
Most improved player of the season
Ever since the World Cup, Materazzi has transformed himself from zero to hero. He has improved tremendously and rightfully deserves this award.
Surprise player of the season
Surely, Maicon. The thing is, Dacourt was already giving out consistent, albeit not spectacular, performances throughout his career. But to be disposing Il Capitano from his regular position and to claim that spot indisputably as his own, that is special. Combine this with the fact that little of us know who the hell this guy was.
Players you would like to see more
M.Gonzalez. Yes, he was horrible against Empoli in some other matches but he showed a lot of promise in other matches too, like Sampdoria, Bayern and Parma.
Players you would like to see less
Adriano. Just sell him, really.
Best incoming transfer
See player of the season. Oh and he made me ate that delicious slice of humble pie too. :embarass:
Worst incoming transfer
Grosso. He was hailed as our saviour to the left-back problem at last but Maxwell ended up outclassing him. What I dislike the most about Grosso is the fact that he always played as if he could care less and just took his spot on the team for granted.
Best outgoing transfer
Oh, do you really need me to say this?
One certain 'playmaker' who played at 1 km/h, can't make a simple pass if it costs him his life, joke with Arrubarrena to knock us out of CL, gained so much favoritism he kicked C.Pizarro & Emre out of the squad, broke every single counter-attack and his list of accolades will grow on and on lest I stop.
Worst outgoing transfer
I'm tempted to say Martins but we don't really miss his presence. Neither did we miss Pizarro. Not gonna vote on this one. :|
Best moment of the season
When Ibrahimovic scored to deny Il Fat One and Milan a revenge in the second Derby.
Worst moment of the season
Roma was certainly our black beast this season...Between the 6-2 humiliation and the 1-3 Scudetto party pooper, I'd got for the latter since it also made it impossible for us to finish the season unbeaten or with 100 points.
Best goal of the season (Quality wise)
Hardest to pick, but I'd for for Ibrahimovic's against Torino due to the sheer difficulty to execute it and because he scored at the most important moment, right after Fiore equalized and threatened our record breaking run.
Most memorable goal of the season
Again, Ibrahimovic's goal which silenced the bastardi Milanisti up in the 2nd Derby.
Most dominant match of the season
Not too sure about this one. :|
Most memorable match of the season
The 4-3 Derby win was a fantastic emotional roller coaster ride! Stankovic's celebration at the end capped a wonderful evening (Or afternoon, for Americans).
Worst game of the season
In terms of performance, surely the 6-2 defeat at Roma.
Best performance by a player in a single match
Ibrahimovic's against Livorno, when we won 1-2 was pretty sensational as he was unstoppable and managed the assist of the season with a backheel to Cruz.
Goal celebration of the season
I'll quote what he said in his post-match interview. "I shook him a bit; I could have hurt him... (smiles). Jokes aside, when you score a goal there are ten seconds in which you forget everything."
Save of the season
J.Cesar's double save from Cafu and Seedorf (?) in the first Derby was phenomenal and decisive.
