I have a problem. Many video files I downloaded, mostly soccer clips and goals, which ends with .avi, can't be played by my Windows Media Player! They always say 'Sending request for codec', then they always says it fail. And the video won't appear. I can still hear the sound, but I can't see anything!

Anyone can help?

Yeah, you need a codec to watch those clips.

Download/install THIS for the picture and THIS for the sound.

I´m sure it´ll work...

But I have already downloaded DivX, and it's been going pretty well. I'm watching the goals from the Ronaldinho XI - Shevchenko XI now. Pretty nice goals.

Forget DivX, just download that ffdshow and you don´t need anything else. DivX is just one codec, in ffdshow you have all the codecs you´ll ever need.

Did you click those links at all?

I bet you could find this information from those links or if not, then google them.

Why you even wanna know? What difference does it make? Those are separate programs, but you dont have to change any setting or anything. Just install and that´s that.
