Yeah saw that yesterday. I see they choosing teams based on their histories, which I think it's unfair to some of the low profile teams who are doing well at the moment and deserve to compete at the higher level. It wont happen anyway, 101% impossible.

Maybe a way to compensate those less famous clubs would be to have 40 teams, 2 leagues, with a similar promotion & relegation system like the current domestic leagues.

I don't get it. Isn't that "38 match schedule" means that the teams won't play in their domestic leagues? Because otherwise these 38 games plus matches in domestic leagues + knockout playoff eventually. It seems too many matches for the players or there is something else?

I did, and I stand by what I said. It's a horrible idea.

And who cares how much money we'd make when we'll be getting destroyed week in and week out only to "drop down" to Serie A the season after. The "superstars" you think we'd sign would already be at other clubs in this league and would not want to come to Inter for anything but money which we wouldn't even be able to offer since all the other teams would have more money than us.

It'd also weaken European football for the sake of 20 "invited" clubs and a profit, which has already ruined the sport due it becoming such a disgusting monopoly in the past 15-20 years or so.

I highly doubt that, otherwise English clubs would no way in hell participate. Why would they when the PL is the envy of leagues around Europe? And I'd say they're essential for the success of this predicted league because it would leave a big gap that cannot be replaced with how big of a following those teams have and the prestige.

There's no way a 38 match competition could co-exist with domestic leagues. English teams breaking from EPL and going for the Super League would get even more money. If you think EPL clubs make a lot, the Super League would probably make twice that. Also just the fact that the club would be on it would attract so much talent.
