Eugenio Bersellini has passed away today, he was 81.

He was our coach in the season 1979/80, when we won our twelfth "scudetto". the following season he reached the semi-finals in champions league.

he also won with us two Coppa Italia: in 1977/78 and 1981/82.

he was known as the "Iron Sergeant" because of his training methods and because of his austere character.

RIP, Sergente.
being an old fart, i remember him well.
my first year as a season ticket older, going to san siro on the filobus, the 12th scudo, the new (now abandoned) logo, effing santillana and THAT bergomi chance in madrid. bini's awesome (and ultimately useless) goal on the back leg.

he made the team play well, and was a fantastic youth developer: that scudetto was won with a team made in majority with players from the youth team (bordon, canuti, oriali, bini, muraro, ambu, pancheri, baresi, bergomi (although he really started playing regularly only the following year) and others that arrived very young (spillo, ilbecca, gondrand pasinato)
