it's interesting that arsenal made the exact same choice as united: they appointed as their coach a "legend" of the club, a foreigner in both cases (and in both cases a scandinavian by the way), at the beginning of his coaching career. despite united all in all doing not so well under solskjær.
Yeah. And in both cases coping with the loss of their greatest-ever manager. Apparently Ljungberg was more popular with the players than Emery, so doesn't seem like the worst stop-gap though.
Man Utd's problem wasn't hiring Solskjaer initially, it was keeping him on after the season ended.
