Exclusive Emre's Turkish Delight!
TURKISH star Emre today revealed his delight at completing his move to Newcastle United.
The 24-year-old has signed a five-year contract after joining from Inter Milan and becomes the second summer arrival at St. James' Park behind Scott Parker.
Emre will begin his Newcastle career on Tuesday when he reports for training with the rest of the senior squad.
And the left-sided player admits he cannot wait for the challenge of proving himself in the Premiership.
Speaking exclusively to nufc.co.uk, he said: "I am very happy to have signed for Newcastle United because they are one of the biggest clubs in England.
"This is a very big club and I am so excited about the prospect of playing in the Premiership. It is a new challenge and one I am looking forward to very much.
"I would like to thank the manager Graeme Souness and chairman Freddy Shepherd for having the trust in me to bring me to Newcastle.
"Now I will give my very best for Newcastle and try to bring success to the club."
Emre is no stranger to Newcastle United fans having played for Inter Milan when the Serie A aristocrats won 4-1 on Tyneside in a Champions League encounter during the 2002-03 term.
He added: "I remember that night very well. St. James' Park is a fantastic stadium and the fans make a wonderful atmosphere inside the ground.
"I'm looking forward to playing there many times as a Newcastle player now."
As our exclusive picture shows, Emre will wear the number five jersey next season. And nufc.co.uk have managed to get their hands on the very shirt he is seen holding alongside manager Graeme Souness.
What's more, we've got our new star to autograph the shirt as well so don't miss nufc.co.uk next week when we'll give you the chance to win it in our latest competition!
