The 11 rules say the two opposing sides must wear red or dark blue flannel caps, allow pushing and catching of the ball, but “holding” was forbidden."

Looks like the Derby della Madonnina was destined to be from the earliest days of the game...

I would guess one reason for the major difference in price is the fact that basketball has clear origins as a sport. Naismith was the undisputed inventor of the modern game, whereas there is much debate as to the beginnings of football. Sheffield may have been the oldest established club, but football (and its variations) date well back beyond 1859.
