I love documentaries & have seen dozens about all kinds of stuff. For those of you who like astronomy & that kind of stuff I really recommend "Through the Wormhole" narrated by Morgan Freeman. That's some quality stuff. Total of 8 episodes, all available in HD.

Manufacturing Consent: Noam Chomsky and the Media

Documentary about the perennial dissident lecturer Noam Chomsky. The focus is on how the media deals with both Chomsky and the issues he raises: mainly by ignoring him. Chomsky is shown as an important force that critiques both the destructive policies of power elites as well as the media that keeps the masses ignorant by spoon feeding them non-critical propaganda.

Chomsky is one of the all time greats, an example of how little of our brains we actually use - the guy is a machine

Google some of his speeches (Which seem to be every couple of months) and it reads like very densely written stereo instructions

BBC Life & Planet Earth (Preferably in HD), should be standard in everyone's library, IMO

Human planet is completely amazing from a visual point of view, like Planet earth, but there are like 10 episodes.

Yeah, I didn't like Human Planet as much...Maybe because I don't care for substitutes for Sir David but I also didn't like the cheesy music they chose for a lot of the sequences...Let's face it, people are a lot less interesting than other animals

Also 10 episodes it's way too long, much better concentrate it in 140 minutes or so.

About animals, i like his one: http://www.filmaffinity.com/en/film250644.html never thought insects had so many qualities, after watch it you ain't gonna kill anyone of those little animals.

BBC is awesome, i guess is the best channel ever.

Chomsky is a total dude. His book are great also.

Here's a small taste of Chomsky for those who aren't familiar with him.

Part 1

Part 2

Enjoy

My concern about this, is that more than the 50% of the people in U.S.A and western Europe KNOW it but we do nothing about it to change anything, we are also slaves.

Some documentaries i watched recently:

Area 51 Declassified (National Geographic) "meh"
Killing Bin Laden (Discography Channel) :thumbsdo::thumbsdo: Don't waste your time.
Hitler's Hidden City - "okay"
Death of a Mars Rover (NG) - They could do much better but still it's "okay"... (Too much romantism, too little science.)
The God Delusion (Richard Dawkins)
The Missing Secrets of Nicola Tesla :star: (strongly recommended!)

Next to watch:
The Nature of Existence
Dangerous Knowledge (BBC)
Into the Universe with Stephen Hawking
Sun Tzu's Art of War
