anyone think that there was actually something legally binding in that "contract" deal that Rafa supposedly signed about Pool players? Seems like as soon as that was made public, Liverpool announced Kuyt was named on today's squad. Odd timing. Just food for thought.

It wasn't legally binding. As rafa said he doesn't do the transfers at inter. Neither moratti nor branca signed any such deal with lfc.

If there was such a deal inter wouldn't have even made an effort which they clearly did.

Anyway lets and wait and see what the final days of the mercato delivers.

I'm not saying it will for sure happen. The chances are got slimmer with every passing minute, but things change very often during the last days of mercato. You never know.

The things that support your side of the story is that, apparently Kuyt is a guy whos words can be taken for granted (unlike Maicon someone), and the fact that he played in the game and Hodgson words.

The deal is not done officialy yet, so I will still use the "if" term.

As for Schweinsteiger, I hope our team tapped him already as Diegus said. The Kuyt deal though didn't make it sound very trustworthy at the moment. We'll see.

It does make sense in theory, to get him next to a typical DM. Maybe Branca pulled another "Jose" like some suggest, who knows.

But to be honest, if we won't buy anybody for midfield this year, I will almost demand a transfer for the midfield like Schweinsteiger (Box-to-box - better than Motta and not injury prone, good skills on the ball). If we didn't sign a DM like Mascherano this year, it would be a failure to sign another DM next summer (if he would be singed to be first team).

Schweinsteiger indeed fits perfectly, and I hope there is really something to it. After summer like that, we'll need a quality signing next summer.
