Moratti to sign Maradona
Friday 19 September, 2008
Inter chief Massimo Moratti is ready to offer former Napoli legend Diego Maradona a job with the Nerazzurri, according to Press reports.

La Gazzetta dello Sport insists that Moratti told the newspaper's former head Candido Cannavò that he planned to employ Maradona in a scouting capacity.

Maradona, who quit his position on the board at Boca Juniors in 2006, would be trusted to search South America for new talent.

“I think we will give Diego a role,” Moratti is quoted as saying. “He represents something important and he has escaped his troubles.”

Moratti also spoke of his delight at the way new Coach Jose Mourinho has acquitted himself.

“I think he has transmitted the right charisma to the squad,” the Beneamata supremo said. “Inter still need to improve but you could see the spirit in Athens.”

Could be a good trick to secure talents from Argentina, including Aguero. I'm all up for this one since he's considered a God in Argentina.

Edit: Just noticed that Stefan brought this up in the thread about Moratti.

Few years ago, Moratti said that he will bring Roberto Baggio. So, not every word should be believed.

Yeah but Baggio enjoys his life away from football so probably doesn't want to return. Diego is totally different. He lives and breaths football. He is at many games. You also see Diego in the stands.

That's true. Still, i guess it's more PR move, than practical one.

No wonder he was wearing that Inter Jacket. I'm sure he already has a contract and everything. Anyways, if Maradona finds the next Messi/Capitano/Aguero for us, I'd consider this move a masterstroke.

Maybe we should show old pictures of Diego to Adri to tell him what could have happened without Mourinho.

True especially since he'll be in South America scouting whilst our club will be 10000 miles away in Italia.

If I'm not wrong, and someone can correct me, the right explanation of this fact was:

"What's the point of writing if something is working out. If something is going good, it would be waste of time to write about it".

Or something close to this.

Going by the number of times Maradona has proclaimed so many players as his successor i am not sure about his scouting capabilities.

He can become a Marketing man or something.

I would like to have him in our club. he's a really good man and as moratti said his trouble are a gone. i hope we get him, and if we get him the wishes to get messi would be completed. even aguero the same situate.

btw don't know if i should believe to drmoratti's talks..

Azz seriously what do really think of this move?

For me looks as though Aguero is loved by Moratti u will see him here before Messi when Messi's contract runs up or he decides to tell Barca fuck off which one or the other will happen eventually then he's on the way I think u will see a 35-40 million Euro bid this summer for Il Kun if Adri doesn't work out this year.

Aguero will be here the 2010 Mercato and when we open our new stadium we will have Messi as another present to the fans. Just my opinion.

Im not sure, i really dont think Maradona is much more than a great name these days, his involvement and desire to do anything related with modern football seems limited.

He makes one scandal and stupid comment after another, drugged up, drunk driving, drunk scandals at parties ect ect.

But who knows.... Now that his cigar buddie fidel is put on ice he might need a new hobby.

I also think its more likely that Aguero joins barca to join up with his friend than him comming here because Maradona has a scouting role.

But i suppose only time will tell, no one can predict the future.

To be honest, I'm against this move. It would be nothing but a publicity stunt by the club. And honestly, what the fuck can Maradona do for us? He's the best player ever but I doubt he can contribute anything whatsoever off the pitch.

I don't believe the BS that he's gonna get us Aguero or the next Diego or whatever. We already have a lot of Argentines, which prove that we can attract them without Diego's help anyway. And I'm afraid that Maradona could have a similar affect to us as what Johan Cryuff has for Barca, which may create some sort of an even stronger Argentine clique in the club.

All in all, I don't like this move at all.

Maradona as our talent scout doesnt really seem smart. When you are on crack, even Rosie O"Donnell seems like Jessica Alba.
Imagine him getting us crap like Cesar or Solari, and telling Moratti that they will be the next Messi.

I think he is being brought in for marketing reasons, wont mind that. We might already be the most popular team in Argentina anyways though.

The Aguero rumours dont really make sense. He is 20, just having some fun with Maradona's daughter. Doubt that he is so serious about the relationship that he would wanna change clubs just to be closer to his girlfriend's father.
Also most people stay atleast 50kms away from their girl's father.

On a seperate topic, how can such an ugly sperm produce such a wonderful end product?
