Signing Godin is good, but our most paid CB should be Skriniar. We exploit him as if his lungs were made of rubber but pay him less than SDV. I would feel ashamed looking into his eyes.

It's about the pedigree too. Godin is a La Liga champion and a two-time CL finalist (and Copa America winner from 2011). These kind of players simply earn more than younger kids, that's just the way it is. If Skriniar's salary is bumped to 4m€ plateau, I think that should be just fine and reasonable. He can ask for a pay raise in two years or something if(when) he keeps developing further.

It's not about beeing unhappy with Godin. All of us know the quality he brings.
We have doubts what could be behind his signing. For me it's hard to believe, we give something like 5m per year to a possible backup.
I suspect behind this move we are prepared to sell Skrniar. If we sell him for more than 80m we could buy Mancini/Anderson and also Barella.
It could make sense. Our defense won't drop in quality, we upgrade our midfield and papa Zhang can pay from his pocket the fees for Politano, Vrsalijko and eventually another winger.

i don't say would be a good move but it could make sense.

I get that, but here we are getting a top quality defender for free, we need 3 good centre backs since we are playing in several competitions. So we get an excellent option in defence and this gives us more liquidity to move for other players in other areas where we need to improve it's a win-win-win-win-win-win-win-win situation.

So we refuse to give Skriniar 4 milllion a year salary but bring in a 33-year old defender who earns 6 million?

No issues with bringing him but it would be a blunder to get rid of Skriniar. For me, Skriniar is the only irreplaceable player in this team at the moment. Yeah, I rate him highly than Icardi of course.

I agree with you, but other teams who are interested in him are ready to meet his requirements. That would be stupid to lose the best CB because of disagreement in salary. And the raise being asked is not something out of this world, it's pretty affordable.

Inter management: let's fix something that ain't broken. Skriniar out, Godin in.

Anyone else still think Marotta isn't a spy?

Lol so Godin was a better and more valuable player than Bonucci when he's linked to us and now when you're getting him he's not worth the heavy salary and is old and done?

6m wage is just bullshit. How much they think to pay skriniar while offering new contract ? 10m ??

Italian reports are increasingly confident Diego Godin has agreed to join Inter for €6m per year once his Atletico Madrid contract expires.

While in Spain the media continue to maintain there is no deal in place, Sky Sport Italia are now naming figures.

It’s claimed the Uruguay international will sign a two-year contract worth €6m per season, including bonuses, with the option for a third campaign.

It'll be €4.5m guaranteed, along with various team and individual bonuses to take it up to €6m.

There are only details to be whittled down before a medical can be arranged, as from next month Godin will be free to negotiate with his next club.

His agents are due to receive at least €5m in commission.

I welcome Godin as long as we`re not selling Skriniar.

Our revenue bigger than Juventus? Come again?

Anyway, this 1,5m€ bonuses sound better for sure. Though somewhere it was said the bonuses are based on team and individual performances and are easy to reach so probably related to some fixed amount of matches played + CL qualification.

Our commercial revenues did surpass Juventus from last year, increase 130% from previous year. And this year with CL money its expecting to hit 350m for total revenues exluded trf income.

Alright, it's important to mention that Godin's arrival will be on a free transfer, the estimated salary is 6m it's high but let's not forget that Miranda's salary is 3.5m, and Ranocchia's is 2.4m, that's total 5.9m, considering that Rano has been nothing but a fifth wheel the entire season, it's natural if we sacrifice both CBs only to get one CB who's in comparison is better quality than both despite his old age.

So we're technically getting Godin on free and for only 100k salary.

My only problem is that I think Skriniar was a priority for the salary increase of getting ride of Rano, and this makes me worry about the possibility of him leaving.

Lol the other grass is always greener, as soon as other club coming to snatch him people in here will hailed him like god and complaint to mgmt if he really slips through our hand.

If he leaves it's either because he wants to go (I.e. so much money to be made elsewhere or Barca or someone want him) or we need to sell him for the plusvalenza..

I don't want him purely because of financial constraints. Skriniar is not happy because of his salary and should get whatever he wants.

Our team has many holes and the only positions we have world-class players are CBs, a striker and arguably Handa and Brozo. That's kinda ridiculous that we sign a 3rd world class CB and leave tons of mediocre players on the pitch. I don't want to have a world class player on the bench when Vecino/Gagliardini/Valero/Nainggolan/Politano/Perisic are starting.

Cholo wants to keep him. Atletico so far has offered 7 mils per year but only 1 year of contract. Thats why he is refusing, he wants at least two.

If we really want him we need to close the deal fast. I have no soubt Atletico will be his choice if they offer the same wage as us.

Simply because we will pay him more than Skriniar and risk losing Skriniar. If we signed Godin and Skriniar signed an extension and was 100% staying next year, then we would all be delighted. But fears of agent Marotta cashing in are real

I have never thought of the probability Godin coming here means that Skriniar will be let go. Not Ausilio nor Marotta would ever think of that idea. That's just plain stupid.

Getting Godin on a free contract would be possibly the deal of the year. Imagine getting one of the world's top 3 CBs for 12 million. I mean, there are some *Lazio* defenders who would go for more than that. I don't see ATM letting Godin that easily. But if we do somehow pull it off, it would be one of the moves of the year.
