Been saying for a while now, this guy has always been unknown whenever he played. No atmosphere, no identity and nothing. There's bench players whom come in and make an impact, whether it's for good or bad, but this guy has been a nothing. And he gets to shoot a PK in such situation? I'm not gonna forgive Inzaghi for this.

He came as the 7th midfielder and a backup for our Coppa Italia run. That was fine. What bugs me is that he's on a 2-year contract. Hopefully we don't need to pay to get rid of him.

First I said that this transfer is useless shit
Then I change my mind to a more positive note, but now I reverse back to my first opinion. This guy was waste of money and time. Much better give his minutes to broken Sensi, Asllani or Esikesimiro or just a random primavera guy.

i know some individuals expect him to eventually shine. Surprisingly, it's not going to happen.

Fever dream of a signing. That missed penalty will be his only memorable moment as an Inter player.

We should have brought Asllani on if anything and just let him run around. At least he has legs still.
Yeah. Asllani is more error prone but at least he has the technical ability to change the game for the positive. Klasseen is just meh. He hasn't done a single noteworthy thing in our shirt until the missed penalty.

I have to check his penalty record to judge if Inzaghi was still sane for subbing him in. Maybe, just maybe he is a competent PK taker. Look at his https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/davy-klaassen/elfmetertore/spieler/182932. It turns out he had taken 15 penalties and missed 5 :palm:. And the last one he took was in 2020 :palm:.
Inzaghi really dropped the ball here. Instead of deploying a player who is useless in a normal time and only has a mere 66 % PK conversion rate, better use Asllani maybe he could have a magical moment to pull us through before the penalty shootout.

I told you a long time ago, one legged Sensi is better than him. This guy is useless. He was never good in his career, why did we brought him and which idea was that kills me.

I never liked his transfer. A guy who isn’t even a starter no more in the Eredivisie for Ajax has nothing to do at a club like Inter.

However, this is not the match to hold him accountable. He simply doesn't have the level for it here. Never has either. And now he's also running on his last legs. It's really a mystery to me why we let him take a penalty.

No mystery actually. He’s quite technical and knows how’s to hit a ball evidenced by his many goals for Ajax and Netherlands NT. I would be expected a player of his experience to be able to hit a better pen than that.

Purely penalty shootout perspective, the miss by Klaassen was the crucial one. Sommer got us back to the game with his save by equalizing the score after Sanchez miss. What does Klaassen? Pulls off an exactly same kind of shot like Sanchez to miss too. After that it felt certain we ain't gonna win this one, it was a huge momentum killer for us. Specially after looking all those Atletico pens. Lautaro miss was more like the cherry on top of our miserable shootout.

This is not a blame to Klaassen per se, but it looked like he was brought in to bring the ball playing skills for those few final minutes and then for penalties, so it's a bit sad he didn't to manage that crucial second task.

Inter is no Ajax. There's a different kind of pressure in here, so clubs and environments have different impact in players' morale. Klaassen has never looked confident in here. He never made any brainfart, but that's because he was too unknown and never looked to take any responsibility in these minutes he played. And this is not only about the match against Atletico, but also from previous appearances he made for Inter.

And once again, PK's are more about being well composed in front of pressure, more than having technical skills. Sure, the latter is an advantage, but I've seen players lacking proper technical skills, yet score penalties in usual.

I'm no better than Inzaghi, but the selection list of PK's was a mistake IMO. Lautaro should've gotten the second penalty after Hakan. I'd say Alexis as 5th choice would've been better, and maybe both Frattesi and Acerbi in between these.

Might sound crazy, but I'd even give Bisseck a chance ahead of Klaassen. The kid's confidence is unreal, and he looks composed whenever he's playing. Looks like one who doesn't get influenced by circumstances.
