Sky says things are getting more serious now as we offered 15mil+5mil bonuses for him, they think it could actually work despite the 30mil clause...but some member here said that in France release clauses are not allowed so...whaaaaaat?!

His stats say he rarely if ever scores. This I don't like.

He's a defender though, that shouldn't be the first thing you look at

It is getting clear that Dalbert will be our fourth signing. But about the fifth we really dont know who it is. Maybe another defender...

Spalletti's game mainly relies on low ground passes rather than crosses. So he should fit well in Spalletti's system.

Yh I forgot about him. I actually liked the fact Padelli could prove he was Interisti with a picture of his younger self. So we have signed three players, but none of them makes us hope or make our rivals take note. Sad

Alright, so I went over to the French speaking Dalbert forum. They have an entire thread dedicated to his potential departure:

http://www.ogcnissa.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=27701&start=0

Here are the highlights (translated to English)

With regards to us buying him for 15 million Euros:

Whore !!!
We are being robbed

Good bye Dalbert, if you can get us 15M, I will pay for the ticket for you to leave

15M is a nice sum for this player bought memory 1-2M.

For 15M frankly, we must not hesitate. He is a good player but not irreplaceable, far from it.

I also think that for 15M € or even more, Dalbert is replaceable.

On Dalbert's performance this year:

Frankly this player really did not show much. Unlike Souquet, who showed values and desire to win his place, Dalbert regressed throughout the year to finish the year zero.

Dalbert was perfect at the beginning of the season, had a big drop in form, and returned well at the end of the season.

Arsenal,Liverpool and City are being rejected by him as he only wants Inter apparently!

and Nice fans are bashing him now because he wants to leave...often relates to some serious butthurt tbh and then downplaying his ability...so not a very credible place to go for opinions tbh

So exactly what happens here when we sell a player or a player rejects us for another team?

I would like to see what the comments were on that forum about Dalbert prior to the rumors starting. That would be the best way to gauge actual opinion

This is the only article i could find about Dalbert abilities :

Cheapest Option To Replace Milner? Who Is This Brazilian full-back On Liverpool’s Radar – Everything You Need To Know

After a hard fought season, Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool finally managed to book a place in the Champions League next season but they have to solve a few problems in the squad before they can compete for silverware and one position that requires immediate assistance is the left-back position.

With Alberto Moreno expected to be sold and James Milner not expected to be the first choice, the Reds are looking for some of the most exciting full-backs in Europe for a move this summer and
reports today suggest that they are looking at League 1 unknown Dalbert Henrique from Nice.

According to reports today, Liverpool are looking at the 23-year old as a possible option this summer, after his impressive performances in the domestic league, but who is Dalbert and what will he add to the squad at Anfield?

Here is a mini-scout report from the fans who are not accustomed to this name:

Born and brought up in Barra Mansa, Brazil, Dalbert joined the academy in his home town back in 2008 and took just four years to be picked up by Fluminense, and then Flamengo, all reputed clubs in his home country.

He made it into the senior side for the first time in Portugal, where he played for Académico de Viseu Futebol Clube and in just a year, he moved to Vitória S.C. establishing himself as a first team regular.

He did not last long there either, as he was picked up by Nice last summer, and he did not take too much time in France either, establishing himself in the first team at Nice, picking up four assists in 33 games in the domestic league.

Capable of playing in an advanced role as well, Dalbert is a strong and smart full-back, who loves the defensive part of his game. With excellent ball holding abilities, the 23-year old has shown that he has the ability to frustrate even the best of the wingers, in his one year in France.

He is also a decent dribbler with maddening pace to burn while his ability to find the right ball at the right time, makes him effective in the final third. He rarely loses the ball and is aggressive in his defending, and Klopp might have just unearthed a sensational gem for his collection at Anfield. He is slightly weak in the air but at his age, will surely develop the skill in due time.

Also wanted by Arsenal, Inter Milan and Juventus, Dalbert has a unique mixture of attack and defense in his armory and though he is yet to establish himself at the highest level, he will be afforded the time to do so as Klopp can use him as an understudy to James Milner, who was effective in this role last season.

Klopp looks determined to land him and might have found the cheapest possible solution to their left-back problem. But do you think Liverpool should look at someone more established for this role next summer?

Zanetti never scored.

true but if i'm not mistaken spalletti wants a defensive full back and an attacking full back.

now dalbert should be our attacking full back, right? well, i would expect something more under the point of view of scoring.

i don't even know the guy, so maybe he could score 5 goals per year (or even 10 for all i know) and just hasn't found yet the right coach.

i don't want to sound a negative Nancy here, just looking at the numbers. and as i said, he might surprise me, after all i've never watched a single match with him.
