Very important victory. For points but also for the team's self-confidence. Time to time the matched reminded me of the glory days of Mourinho and our triumph at CL. How we defended in numbers and tried to attack fast. Well the fast attacking part didn't work that well since we had Ricky on the pitch but this a good start. We are playing winning football again.

There were couple of dangerous conceded chances for CSKA and in one of them they scored that equalizer. At that point I thought it would be a draw and it would be a fair result but Zarate magic grabbed the points to Milano. Great!

It's good to continue from this point.

How did we play? how was our defense?

Our defense for the most part was pretty good. However, the second goal was just horrible. Vagner Love got the ball on the left side of the box and BOTH Zanetti (who is a natural right back obviously) AND Lucio just let him cut in and have a clear shot at goal. And when I say clear... I mean CLEAR. They just watched him take the shot. (look at the highlights) There was a clear lapse in concentration from our two most naturally gifted defenders.

Samuel also made a bad tackle right outside of the box that led to the freekick which the first goal resulted from.

Lucio was good for the most part besides that one mistake, and he had a couple of clinical interceptions in the defensive third beating his man to the ball. This was true for much of the team.

Chivu on the other hand was Chivu. Did some good things.. did some utterly stupid crap, but was okay for the most part. Thus I don't know really how to answer... we were much better than we were with Gasperini, but we still need improving. Anything after three in the back will look better. Right?

Nagatomo was pretty good going forward and was decent at right back as well.. he made the second goal all by himself pretty much.

When we get Maicon back.. I think we will continue to improve.

Overall, individually we got beat sometimes which is to be expected, but I think we defended as a TEAM, something that had been lacking ever since last season. This is one great sign that we are coming back slowly. Just by seeing that Cambiasso is operating in his role and is playing well tells you a whole lot.

What a sweet victory, got home just at HT and it was 2-1 to us, damn shame Vagner owned 2 our players there,, but Zarate's finish was greaaat. What was most important was 3 points. But tbh, our 2nd half sucked, pinned back to our half, long balls and shit. Forza Inter
