I think that if we take into account the weird setting of last season and the fact that both of them had the best season in their career so far (even dalbert had like nearly 10 assists) I'd say the way they played is more an exception than a rule.

And even that exception isn't that crazy in terms of quality lol.

Sure Biraghi would be more useful than the brazilian dude but in a Scudetto challenger Inter imo both of them should be far away.

Another deal (like Perisic’s) where the intent seemed to be there from all parties involved and the finances were pretty close but which still inexplicably fell through for some fucking reason, leaving us with some cunt we need to get rid of.

Cristiano Biraghi: “A Privilege To Have Worn This Shirt, Inter Will Always Be In My Heart”

Former Inter wing back Cristiano Biraghi sent a message to the Nerazzurri fans in a post on his Instagram page yesterday.

The 28-year-old Italian returned to Fiorentina after spending a season on loan in Milan. Contracted to the Viola until 2022, the Florence based club didn’t want to renew his loan spell as they wanted him in the squad for next season.

The player made 37 appearances for the Milanese club last season, scoring three goals and providing seven assists in that time.

Biraghi sent a long message to fans, saying: “To have worn these colors for me was an honor and a privilege. To have played in the team of my city, the team for which I have always supported.

“It is useless to hide feelings, especially when you turn a page. This great opportunity ends after a year, which I am convinced I have honored in the best way.

“Wearing this jersey, playing at San Siro, contributing to the growth of a great team has a special flavor. An intense season, always lived to the max, using all my energy.

“I would have liked to have been able to celebrate with a trophy, we just came very close. It would have been a dream.

“I have 12 fantastic months left in my heart. I am left with the colors, the strong emotions, the unique sensations, the 3 goals and 7 assists and even the time on the bench.

“The fans, in whom I have always reflected myself. Going from the stands to the field is a step that not many have had the honor to take.

“I have had this privilege and I will always be grateful for it. For this I thank everyone, no one excluded, for this beautiful opportunity.

“Now we turn the page again, with the same enthusiasm, the same desire and even more ambition. But always with Inter in my heart.”

Lovely choice of words, from a strong critic to a somewhat supporter, he sure changed my mind on him with his effort. Wish him the best.

Makes me mad we have signed such shitters like PErierierierieia and NAgatomomom etc and let this guy stay for just 1 season. But thats what happens when you hire coward coaches and let Ausilisdo be responsible of transfers.

I'm guessing the reason a Biraghi - Dalbert swap isn't happening has more to do with Fiorentina having zero desire to keep Dalbert than anything else.

We had an option for Biraghi though

Yeah, but we ain't paying 12m€ for average backup LWB in a times when we are haggling for 500k€ player for weeks.

But we’re spending €19m on Pinamonti plus €4m for Males to immediately loan them out

Biraghi's statement put in short:

"I am proud because I was an Inter player, but now it's time to score against them in their opening game. Woe to the vanquished."

VAE VICTIS

Great nod to Biraghi’s (allegedly) fascist tattoos :einstein:

Dogen was the master of such nods. Where is he? Will one of you Italians kindly lean out your window (taking care not to get your head tangled in your clothesline that is tied to the adjacent building) and call out to Dogen to come back? This forum needs him.

If I remember correctly, the drama came from his shin pads. That entire thing was blown out of proportion anyway.

Dogen's contributions to this forum are indeed missed.

If I'm not mistaken Dalberto had one or two good games also. It's a very different level playing for Inter where expectations are higher. That said I was sad (and annoyed) to see Biraghi go.

Would still be here if Fiorentina had any interest in Dalbert whatsoever. The option on him was like 12mil I think? Maybe without the pandemic we would have done it, but we didn't really spend at all other than Hakimi. The Sensi redemption was maybe a bit questionable, but perhaps we made a gentleman's agreement and want to keep good relations with Sassuolo.

He would have been a good squad player but it is what it is.
