Just the fact that we need that many WBs makes me dread the future.

Pretty much what Cafe and Black Knight said. Biraghi really helps our club-trained list and we need the depth for next season. Hopefully Serie A takes up the option to retain the 5 subs rule for next season too. That way Conte can almost always do his double WB swap and not "waste" a sub on it.

The more time goes by the more convinced* I am that we need to get a swap deal organized with Fiorentina & Dalbert, and redeem Biraghi.

*Convinced by his performances too.

AS long as we buy a top class LWB, I have no issues with both Young and Biraghi staying for next season. Both are decent options for the bench, and it never hurts to have a further back up specially coz we don't know how COVID will disrupt next season. With the 5 sub rule, a deeper bench will be even more important.

According to the Corriere dello Sport, the intention of Inter is to keep Biraghi by renewing the loan exchange between the Italian and Brazilian.

This makes sense because the cost of Dalbert will be even better ammortized after 1 further year, plus he is 1 year younger - so in theory has a better resale value.

Well put my friend. In time we shall amortize Dalbert into non-existence.

Never thought I'd say this but he is growing on me, from where I used to think he was a lost rabid dog to a well displined one with intent when he goes forward. He's still exteremely limited but plays his heart out and does contribute offensively which is something I'm weak against as an Inter fan.

He might be our most improved player after the break.

He was always a solid Serie A left back and one of Fiorentina's best players for a few years. It's not that he's recently raised his game to new heights or anything, he was actually underperforming and playing like trash in the early part of the season. Now he's settled in to the club and the system and showing his regular level which is, as mentioned, solid Serie A standard.

Redeem him and he'll be another D'Ambrosio for us.

Everything he built in terms of credibility this season, he flushed it down the toilet when Politano dropped him in his ass last game ;)

Asamoah leaves and he'll be our bench LWB option, which is fine. That also means, if we keep Young, he'll still play like half of the games.

If Conte thinks he will do good for us, then that's okay. We can stop spending money on left wingbacks for twi years at least

He is limited, but an ok option as backup. Next season will be tough and having extra squad depth is definitely useful, so keeping both him and Young + getting a new LWB makes perfect sense.

Don’t think his transfer was an amazing deal, bit we definitely won from the Dalbert-Biraghi swap

We need to remember that these zeroes excel at 3-5-2 formation especially for coaches like Conte. Lets not forget how good Jonathan were

You don't say, a man that devotes his full life to train a sport can actually be used in a system that makes him look even better? Wow! It's like there is a whole (sport) industry devoted to this :einstein: Imagine being paid more in two weeks than you are in a whole year and still being called a zero by somebody on a forum.

As somebody who knows a few people in football, I cannot stress enough how I admire footballers and the coaching staff, and sports people in general. It inspires me to be better at my job and hobbies.

Both Sky and SportItalia report Inter and Fiorentina are working on Biraghi and Dalbert loan extensions.

One thing that still remains unclear to me is why Conte didn't give more chance to Dimarco. Discipline issues? fitness? I think he looked better than Biraghi whenever he played. He is from our academy and still young. Wouldn't it be wiser to bid on him rather than Biraghi who simply reached his maximum?

Just me who thinks we can do without a new signing for LWB? Biraghi and Young on rotation throughout works for me. Both are serviceable and neither can get too comfortable since the other is lurking around.

I'm also not convinced on Gosens. He is very good, but plays a different version of LWB at Atalanta. May not work for Inter.

The more concerning piece is D'Ambrosio playing a single minute at RWB. Hopefully Hakimi/Candreva/Moses put an end to it.

No, we need upgrade on the left big time. They’re both average at best.

We could see against Roma how limited Young is, there’s no way he can handle strong CL competition and Biraghi is limited against everyone.

I would say we need LB more from midfielder and 4 th striker.

I was asking myself exactly the same question. And his performances for Parma have been noticeable and consistent.
