The best players to come out of Malta are
Carmel Busuttil
Michael Mifsud (he still plays and a Premiership team wants to sign him)
Mifsud played for Lillestrøm back here in Norway for some years. Good player who on his best days created hysteria in the opponent's defence. Decent player, but I doubt he'll make it really big. Well, no one in Norway, except talented Norwegians of young age, rarely make it big
Back to Norwegian players, "the Drillos" of the 90's consisted of some of the maybe greatest players of Norwegian origin, at least in modern time. Solskjær, Tore Andre Flo (played for Chelsea, Rangers and Siena), Mykland (had a career in Germany if I'm not mistaken) and all the players that went to England. Henning Berg, Ronny Johnsen at Man Utd along with Solskjær won the CL in 99. Bjørnebye were fairly successful at Blackburn and later Liverpool. Later, Carew is a well-known player I guess. Kjetil Rekdal (Belgium, Hertha Berlin). Erik Thorstvedt (Tottenham, Chelsea). Erland Johnsen (Chelsea, Bayern). Rune Bratseth (Werder Bremen)
But I still rate Solskjær highest. He has been incridible. Many of the names I've named surely is unknown to you, if you're not in some special way related to clubs or episodes being linked with the player(s). If you know something about the Norway WC 1998 squad, you're dealing with some of the more famous players from Norway. Norway never has (or never will be) as good as they were at the time.
Oh, some of you may remember Alf-Inge Haaland. He was the one who was so brutally tackled by Roy Keane that he had to retire. Not a great player but one you may be able to relate to.
