This is actually no surprise to me, knowing Mancini's teams, his defence is usually quite shaky, and that worries me a bit. If we are to play to offensive football, the defence needs to be better organized.

Stankovic's display last night was outstanding. Signing Cesar makes no sense to me now. Stankovic is perfect for the left "wing". And I know that he can't perform that good on the right.

So if we are to sign a player, get a right winger, either a sub for VDM, or a starter.

Stankovic should play on the left, period.

First he wants to leave cause he has probs with Zac and now he supposedly wants to leave again. Hopefully this is all false speculation though I can sorta imagine him faking his "un-match fitness" so that he can still go to another club so he can play in the CL with them.

Hopefully thats not true, though if it is then I hope we sell him pronto. With him gone we wouldn't even need a new RWM.

A real top performance,one of his best for Inter possibly only shaded by ''that'' Valencia game.He made several good saves and saved us from going down on quite a few occasions.Good reaction too to the 'hand of God' attempt by Smiljanic - 8,5/10

IVAN CORDOBA
Columbia's captain really showed last night why he is one of the best defenders around these days and why he is so indispensable to Inter.He tackled well,passed well and he never let his team down.His pace and clever mind stopped Basel on many times,something that frustrated Gimenez and Rossi. - 8/10

JAVIER ZANETTI
Inter's captain and hero was not on his best form yesterday,he seemed tired and he didnt run down the wing as much as usual,maybe he is acting in quieter ways this season but even Mancini had to tell him to push during the match. - 7/10

MARCO MATERAZZI
Like Cordoba,Matriz gave a good advertisement of himself last night,like his defensive partner he tackled and passed well and stopped some good moves from the Swiss team.Cordoba - Materazzi really seems to work for Inter. - 8/10

GIUSEPPE FAVALLI
Superb,the man with simply superb yesterday.He surprised everyone with his great tackles and moving down the left hand side of our team.If plays like this again he could just be a permanent fixture in defence.The guy had more ammunition than we thought! - 9,5/10

ZE MARIA FERREIRA
Just like Favalli,Ze Mariao of the new signings was a great surprise down the right,he understanding with his compatriot Adriano was amazing and he very nearly scored on his official debut,but he chose the wrong option of placement over power for his shot which thumped the crossbar.Could be permanent aswell. - 9/10

ESTEBAN CAMBIASSO
He was not on the form against Basel that he was during the pre-season but he still played a part in Inter's goal made in due course by the young Argentines hard work and determination,not bad but could still get better. - 7,5/10

DEJAN STANKOVIC
Brilliant,indispensable,excellent are just a few of the words to describe this man,since his arrival in January he has been great!He had several good shots not far from goal his best being the one that his the post(if only it was 3 inches more to the left!),he ran at opponents,he came back,the only thing wrong was his yellow card! - 10/10

JUAN VERON
A lot was expected from this player for yesterdays match as he was meant to lead us to victory,but instead he gave us absolutely nothing until the minute the whistle went,however he acknoleged his poor performance and everybody knows he can improve! - 5,5/10

ALVARO RECOBA
Like Veron more was expected of the Uruguayan international yesterday but he still did better.He confused Basel's defenders and I think I am right that it was his dummy that gave Adriano the ball en route to his goal,not bad atall that. - 8/10

ADRIANO LEITE
His one and only target was achieved yesterday...To score a goal for Inter to his dad,and that he did.After that brilliant solo goal by our Brazilian star notm uch was expected from him and apart from some nice touches he didn't really give much more,should have been subbed. - 9/10 for his determination and strength

Well the commentator on Canale 5 said that they were having an argument as Mancini wanted Matrix to play nearer to Cordoba and that they were playing too deep!

I'm having a problem viewing the goals of the game. When i click on the mpeg icon, a white small window is opened and nothing happens. Last season the clip would appear in this window, it's not working with me now for some reason. Any suggestions?

Hamed: This is my suggestion. I use Avant Browser and when I click the links, a new window popped up and my Windows Media Player was automatically launched, where the goal was shown. Otherwise, you can right click the link and select 'Save Target As' to save it in your computer. Hope this help.

What's wrong with the MPEG format?

Anyway, I view them using cable connection. If you can't watch them because of a slow connection, I suggest you save the goals which I posted in the thread that I mentioned (In the post to reply Hamed).
