Are Graphical Signatures Permitted On This New Board

I was wondering, since we have moved boards now, does the no signature rule still stand?
And if we are not allowed, what is the reason behind this?
I will host my signature on my own server.

I know that this type of forum can support Graphical signatures but I doubt that the management will have changed their minds on this...

Yeah graphical signatures are just stupid, and slow the forums down.

Shahz hit the nail on the head with his post. It isn't a problem with the bandwidth as you have mentioned, seeing as most, if not all users would have to host their signatures on their own servers. However, the loading time of the forums would be somewhat affected if all users were to display graphics in their signatures.

However, in light of the new forums, i'll consider such an option. I'll speak to the rest of the management team to obtain their views.

From what I've seen in other forums, graphical signature make pages very untidy. If we are to allow them, I suggest we restrict their size.

I much rather the forums without them anyway.

why not just have a graphics section in the forum or something instead, at least then only those threads would be slower as opposed to the whole board..

i agree with katiey :there should be a section on the graphics so people with dial up dont have to complain and say the fourm always loads for a very long time,

Some graphics look untidy when there to bigg or they have too man if miki or who ever might in the future does this desicon should make it a limt of 1 pic or sumthin

I don't think a graphic section will be wise, as it will only caused isolation of members who can't access that section. The most we can do, is to consider increasing the avatar size and file size limit. Graphical signature is just a straight :nono:.

I see, some valid points raised.
The reason I am for Graphical signatures, is because it allows certain members to express them selves, as some do with avatars. And it adds more personality and more creativity to the forum, which is never a downside.

About slowed loading times, a restricted signature size could be incorporated? right?

It would have to be a very slow size to not slow down the forum a lot for us with dail up connections.

Oh most definitely, a small signature size. I've seen forums do this and succeed. Signatures just make the place the whole more attractive, and allows people to express personality.

When I started out at forums, there wasn't even avatars that existed. That feature is and was awesome, but when forums started to accept images in signatures, they lost all sorts of layout and reputation.

hahaha my eyes 2 if we cant get them in our Signiture can we have like 200 x 200 avatars maybe? but it will look to much out of place maybe but more Graphics will look even better for the fourm i rekn

graphical signatures are not needed, you have avatar for that!
it will just make this forum slower and willlook messy, right now it's all good and enough
