The best thing that Apple has is their computers! fuck windows!

Windows is the OS only, nothing to do with hardware. And it's generally better than the mac, depends on what are you using it.

Anyway, i'm not going into this Apple vs Samsung debate, i'll just comment Apple. They ARE innovative, they are making good products, but are waaaay overrated and overpriced. There are other companies for hardware that make products of similar quality, but they, just because of the brand, are pumping up their pries for at least 40%. Which is too much imo, not worth it.

Also, the bullshit Apple is doing with their patents is over the line. God knows how they didn't make a patent of the touchscreens used on the iPhones. They should just FO, do their job. If someone makes a similar product to their own, make a better one. That's the modern evolution.

Firstly, the patent system in the United States is very different from most of the world. In a bad way. Under the current patent system in the USA, Apple has every right to sue Samsung for violating their patents, however generic they may be. This is how it works, sadly for Samsung. Most Americans believe it's time for a patent system overhaul due to the abuse of the system by major companies like Apple, Microsoft, etc.

Secondly, how can you say the iPhone is overpriced? USD $200 on contract costs the same as any other new phone on contract lol.

Third, Flash is on Android right now, and not iOS. This is not for long. Android is dropping flash in the future and sticking to just HTML5. This is for the best because flash on mobile sucks so terribly it's ridiculous, and hopefully it will lead more websites to switch to HTML5 (which is the future of the web).

I have a blackberry bold. A friend of mine that is a technology geek/guru recently told me that when I update my phone, I should go for the galaxy sIII (he dislikes the iPhone).

As long as I can make calls, send txts/emails, take pictures and use the internet (I'm not overly fussed about apps and/or games) then I'm happy.

Will this samsung vs apple shit going on, potentially affect me as a consumer ??? I'd hate to buy a product for it to then become obsolete overnight.

Get the s3. I switched from BB bold and moved to the s3. Awesome. Simple.

Apart from the keyboard typing thing, I have no complaints. First week you will think its a little big, but then you will get used to it and the iPhone your friends uses will feel toyish.

Sounds like you're the same way I am. Calls, email, internet and GPS is all I use the phone for, and tbh which phone you have barely even matters in that case. Every phone can do all that stuff and do it well. I'm yet to see any reason for me to go out and get the latest and greatest phone, I still have the droid X.

The only games I have are the miscellaneous ones my gf plays (sudoku, some drawing game, etc.)
