Former Inter forward Antonio Valentín Angelillo died aged 80 the 5th of January, 2018.
The news agencies only talked about this today as per wish of the family.
In 1958/59 he scored 33 goals in serie A, the league had 18 teams back then so lasted 34 matches. This record of his for goals scored in a Serie A season with 18 teams still holds (nordahl first and then higuain scored more, but in a league with 20 teams).
as you can see from the image, he also wore the armband (according to interfc.it fansite, he was captain in 1958/89 and 1959/60).
he scored 77 goals in official 127 matches with Inter and is a hall of fame player.
he also worked as a talent scout for Inter and according to multiple records (including today's gazzetta.it) he was the one who advised Inter to buy Cordoba and Zanetti.
he was nicknamed "the angel with a dirty face", apparently by a masseur (it has to do with the 1938 movie Angels with Dirty Faces, maybe the connection was a physical resemblance with the actor Rocky Sullivan but i woulnd't be sure about it).
