We have committed over 300m for the coach change and his demands. Our only failure was to get him an extra midfielder that he asked for but that's on him for wanting Lukaku at all costs.

We needed Lukaku and then we were out of money. We failed to sell and didn't have a first choice striker because our dynamic duo proclaimed that Icardi won't play for Inter again. Oh, wait ...

If that was our only failure, I assure you we wouldn't have failed to beat Slavia Prague at home today.

We literally weakened our team, replaced our best players with players that are frankly nowhere near as good, and proceded under the belief that Conte would be the difference and then some. Inter spending a large amount of money doesn't mean shit, when you look at who the money was spent on.

Waiting for him to mention how he told us yesterday in the press conference that it would be a challenging game...

Underestimated the spirit and organization of his opponent. He wont do it again. Having Godin, Sanchez, and Barella on the bench in a must-win, is a bad move. Playing gagliardini only because he's tenacious and physical is no surprise, as Italian coaches are married to average dullards.

Well he realized that and made the subs, i am sure Sanchez would have played had it been for the Candreva injury.

I hope, after today's match, he has a much better idea of which players are going to help to achieve something moving forward.

I maintain what I said before, the forwards are killing us. To have a tactic with 2 players playing high and not contributing much on defense, they need to be significantly better on the ball and making runs. Lukaku and LM10 are just absymal. They consistently get beat to the entry pass by their defender. We need to sort this out ASAP. If that means sanchez and poli, so be it. Lukaku needs to be much more mobile because he's just too shit and reactionary (slow reaction too).

And this gags/vecino/barella situation has to be sorted out.

Otherwise we're fine. Tough road ahead. Need to eek out some results. Cannot lose to Bbilan under any circumstance.

What a lackluster match. All on him IMO. He had ALL THE FUCKING SUMMER to get some kind of playing style and what we have in our first CL match against Slavia at home? Just defenders hooping balls to forwards and those forwards can't trap the ball for shit. And all this because our midfield can't cope with that pressure at all. I truly hope Conte will find keys to this shit, because it's going to be a long season if we can't find the combination plays soon. Our attackers can't play target roles (what the fuck Lukaku with that body?!) so the only option is to get the fast combination game going on to free up spaces in midfield and up front.

Depending on how the match actually goes, even a draw might be an unacceptable result. At least now I feel we need to trash them to build our confidence back.

The Milan Derby isn't just a game. It's a telltale sign for how prepared our coach is and how much our players have bought into their system. If the players don't come out with all guns roaring playing Conte-ball and put up another performance like we saw today then it will say a lot.

Even when things were at their lowest, Spalletti still found a way to win the derby last year.

Conte will find a way too. And diffrent like Spalletti he will also find a way to make this team great again like the years it was before 2010.
And not watch 90 minutes the floor while our team is in the deepest shit ever.

True, two forwards didnt help, having Politano or someone playing as a #10 linking the the CMs, the wingers and the forward is a must which is where Politano contributed, even Barella was pushing up high with the help of Skriniar.

We maybe needed this result today to get back to the ground, especially right before the derby.

He actually took responsibility for today’s game. He said he messed up.

I'm sorry, while I believe the Milan derby is an incredibly important game and we all want to win it badly, you made huuuugggggeeeee leaps in logic.

If both Milan teams totally buy into coaches system and are fully prepared and one team loses, then that team is just absolute shit? These types of projections and "sky is falling" type attitudes have been the reason behind "Pazza Inter". Inter drew against Bari for the first game of the season... Must be a trash team, oh wait, they won the treble.

This team has had 1-2 months together and has brought in new players to a new system.

Skriniar is still getting used to being played out of position while D'bro is one of the other 3, Barella is still learning the system (according to Conte), Candreva/Asamoah are not Champions League/Scudetto worthy wide players, Lukaku has his own baggage in the form of a price tag/expectations/fitness/form, and this is Lautaro's 2nd game in his 2nd season of the Serie A...

This team has to grow into a winning team over the season, it is not currently a winning team by any stretch of the imagination.

So he said he isn't instructing the players to play long balls, that they need to construct the play from the defence, evading the pressure ... Well coach the players are not listening to you then...and that's on you, Worrying shit

It is and isn't. This is exactly what I posted earlier. Whether the Inter curse will strike Conte like it did Spallo. What happens is, our players are too accustomed to freelancing it when the pressure is on or we're behind. They don't stick to the tactic/strategy. They panic.

Spallo definitely let that go on too long. There would be periods where you see some patterns; but then the pattern didn't work out, we concede a goal or it's late in the 2nd half and it's still tied, and the players abandon the tactic. Or we lose a game then the next game, the players are thinking must win, so just go gangbusters.

Here's where I REALLY HOPE conte can step in and iron that shit out. That is unacceptable football. Committ to the strategy and patterns.

It's interesting because there's already degradation. Game 1 v Leece had way more attacking patterns. Each game got subsequently worse, especially when we didn't score. Today was by far the worst, particularly in the offensive third.

Curious to see what happens v BBilan and Lazio.

Good...thankfully not a mancini-type coach
I’m not sure tbh...as much as this result hurt, we needed this also for the purposes of seeing how he approaches this, and if he’s worth the money. He needs to get tested early to see how he adjust and if he’s really stubborn, which I don’t believe he is, at least not as much as Brehme makes him to be.
Iirc, his first season at Chelsea, he started very bad, then made adjustments and went on to win the title.
Not saying he’s gonna win the title here also in the first year, but that (Chelsea) instance makes me hopeful he learns from his mistakes and he’s not super stubborn.
