Arnautovic?

I consider arnautovic part of the squad already. He was going to be signed irrespective what happens to the rest of the squad. He is a signing for the future.

Well Tevez actually left for lack of playing time but I understand what you mean Luka, still I feel Milito will be a fixed starter, but time will tell :)
I'm not saying he won't!!!

I'm just saying, that Milito can be benched here and then.

And last year we were all scared that Zlatan will get injured and there won't be anybody to play there, cause Cruz and Crespo were nowhere near their best. Isn't long bench what it's for ?

We have Stankovic - Cambiasso - Motta, why people still say it's not enough ? Well because you can't play this set-up all year long. Same with the offensive department.

Seriously what's this talk all about. Seems like people think we are Atalanta, who only plays in Serie A, and can play with 2 strikers all year long.

We will see by august 31. I am still convinced we will buy one more player if we get rid of the junk and that player will most likely be cassano.

Yeah, there is that unpleasant condition you mentioned. I think we have to get rid of Suazo and Mancini (Obinna will go for sure) and Vieira. It's tough task for the management.

Walter Samuel,
Don't agree with the people who say we won't get Cassano.

Injuries do happen, so it will be useful to rotate between three top strikers like Cassano, Milito and Eto'o. Furthermore, Eto'o will go away for the African Cup of Nations.

That's why we have Balotelli and probably getting Arnautovic as well. Cassano will want to start gaames all season long(not only bcz of World Cup season) not just in January! Balotelli also wants his chance to get into Italy's WC squad. If Cassano arrives, he becomes 4th choice and probably will ask to leave! We can't get Cassano now for many reasons, unless we don't use him as a forward except for times where either Milito or Eto'o or Balotelli is unavailable. Cassano is great and all, but he's no Maradona, Romario, Ronaldo, Zlatan or let me say it otherwise, a man one team.

If Mourinho can keep Mario happy, and utilise Eto'o, Milito and Cassano without anyone getting unhappy or whatever, then i'd be behind this transfer 100%. But I can't see how we can manage a stability within the squad if we do get him, no matter if we offload the dead wood as well.

Anyway, I doubt we'd spend €10m on Arnautovic to be our 5th striker! Cassano's transfer would seem illogical and unnecessary if that goes through.

We take Arnautovic because hopefully he will grow as a player. We don't take him and hope he will be our 5th striker for next 5 years.

If we'll go with 4-3-3, there is room for everybody. 3 strikers, and you'll see. 2 players out because of some knocks and you will start worring what will happen if next one will get injured.

The thing with unhappy players is the problem, but I think Jose is one of the best in the world with keeping players fairly happy in the team.

Why not? Is he unbenchable?

Do you think Cambiasso won't get benched if he will start playing like Davids all of a sudden ?

Cambiasso, Zanetti etc. are in a better position because of what they mean for inter, but they only get some margin of error. If they suddenly start playing bad, after 5, 10 games tops you can expect them to be benched.

Nobody is sure of its place at a team like Inter.

Balotelli is still very raw, and realistically, he is not going to get into Lippi's squad at this time.

Cassano comes, and it's very possible that he is 2nd choice striker after Eto'o. I see your point, that it would be hard to manage all our strikers especially with the egos of Eto'o, Cassano and Balotelli. But like i said, injuries will happen and Eto'o will go away. We can rotate our strikers and it also gives us the ability to play different formations. It is the same with our defenders. At the moment, we have Chivu and Cordoba as our 3rd and 4th choice centre backs, which one might think is crazy. But of course, we know that injuries will happen and we will also rotate according to form and the opponent.

But by getting Cassano you are benching someone for no apparent reason beofre the season even started! Cambiasso didn't come here as starting material, Davids and Veron were. Cuchu was satisfied to be used as a rotation player but Davids failed so he started ever since(worthwile of course). Cassano, Milito and Eto'o all signed(or will sign) for Inter in the prospect of first team football. And there's also Balotelli who wants to play in order to gain a spot in Italia nt

Because with Ibra's departure from Serie A, Milito is the #1 goal scorer remaining in the league. Not too mention that it looks like he has picked up right where he left off last year. IMO, if more players are purchased, the emphasis will be on getting somebody to help create for Eto'o & Milito.

Eto'o and Milito will be on the field at the same time...bank on it.

I think that is a given. We splashed on those two and obviously Milito is coming to start. However, I think Mario got a chance to challenge Milito should he train well and behave.

Garrone: Cassano stays with us

News from Gazzetta dello sport (Jul 28,2009): (translated by me)

'''Sampdoria President Riccardo Garrone has announced to the press that Antonio Cassano won’t be leaving the Marasssi this summer.

cassanonews.jpg

Il Talentino has been linked with a move to Inter, the club he supported as a kid, but the Blucerchiati are having none of it.

“I can comfortably say that Antonio is 100 per cent staying with us,” claimed Garrone.:nono:

Consequently, Jose Mourinho and his staff will have to replace Zlatan Ibrahimovic with a different player – although rumours about Cassano will probably continue in the coming weeks''

^^ bla bla bla all we need to do is stuff his mouth with some money and give him some players in exchange. I've heard club presidents talk like this: he's probably trying to make us bid for him quickly and see if anything can be worked out. Wasn't it Lyon's president that said Benzema would stay, and then sometime later- Benzema to Madrid!? In Italy's economic crunch, he'll be willing to hear us out. Make a move Inter....

Yeah that's the question! If Mourinho sticks to 4-4-2 I doubt Cassano would be the one he asks for. But still I donno which player is out there to be a good signing for us.
