We signed him when he was 14 years old. Those deals rarely involve cash and it is customary to add a high sale % there. Most of these kids tend to be loaned out until their contract runs out so the % is not excercised. Hence why it is usually around 45-50%.

I think we just have a gentleman’s agreement instead as aren’t buyback clauses being wiped out

Why did we sell him in such a hurry? Especially now when the strikers-saga is dragging on it would be very good to have him around and let him show his qualities. I'm a fan of him and would loved to have him over a 80M Lukaku.

Because we desperately needed to make capital gains till the end of June and our deals for other youngsters (e.g. Vergani, Merola) had fallen through. The initial plan was Pinamonti joining our pre-season squad and then Conte would decide his fate.

It's preseason eh. Plus, I can't even imagine how bad these teams are to lose to the likes of Genoa and Torino 7-0 and 10-0. Let's just see how he does for Genoa in the league eh.

Damn FFP...To bad there wasn't another way to make capitail gains than to sell Pinamonti before the preseason.

I know its not fair to judge him on these games but it's more like he is way more talented than the other strikers which our in the Asia tour squad and to splash 80m on Lukaku if you have a talented young striker who will score goals for you(not saying he will score 20+ goals). But I would prefere Pinamonti every day over Lukaku(if he costs us 80m). Especially now when we need to play Longo, Vergani etc in our preseason.

Apparently Genoa does not want to meet the obligation to buy Pinamonti. Not sure if there was some clauses which make it obligation because otherwise I don't quite follow the meaning of obligation. There was one story that says the obligation becomes active when Genoa gets one point in the second half of the season but that was Google translated so can't be confirmed, probably that would be still related to the usage of Pinamonti.

Anyway, now they are a looking for a club who could "take" that obligation out of their hands. That's why Raiola was in our offices few days ago.

That translation is right, that's the stipulation for the obligation. Genoa will have to pay up if we can't find a solution for him.
