Were you referring to Bali?

My suggestion if you are looking a place which has better panoramic view, you need to go east towards Lombok; the place is cleaner and quieter. However, as a Westerner, you need to keep in mind; their people are different in culture from Balinese, so you may not do several things to do in Bali. Also, if you have lax time, Raja Ampat is the one that shouldn’t be missed especially if you’re a diver. Their diving spot is Indonesia’s best (even more than Bunaken), and arguably one of the world’s best tourism place.

Try it, I bet you won’t regret it. :smileani:
Couldn't agree more. Lombok is improving :)

Actually Kuta and others main destination is crowded. Just came back to Jogjakarta from my homeland 3 days ago after a year in Jogjakarta. What I've seen is there's plenty clean and quiet place like Nusa Penida and Nusa Lembongan. Just and hour from Benoa harbor. Or you can go to Taman Nasional Bali Barat if you wanna go diving. Lembongan and Penida has 0ne of the best diving spot called Crystal Bay. Where you can see Mola-mola fish. :D
Another diving-snorkeling spot in East Bali (Amed) has a quite beautiful underwater scenary with old wrecked ship.

If you want to see the old Bali with it's culture. There's plenty of traditional sacred event - religious event- in Bali every month. Since every region in Bali has their own date for it based on traditional calendar.
You might the part of it as well :)
My hometown just celebrated one, you might seen traditional Balinese dance, if you get lucky you might join the fest. We have pork and duck based food.

Will be glad to accompanying FIF member when you're around. I'll go back to Bali at early December.

I'm Albanian, which in your americanized culture means mafia, hollywood's Taken series and all that shit. In reality, we're one of the smartests people on planet Earth, with a big passion for Euro football and we have some of the most beautiful women. Our weakness - an inbred sense of inferiority, part of being "humble" to the extreme if the opportunity calls for it. But make no mistake: the average Albanian will fuck you up physically or mentally, and then explain to you why. That applies only if you cross their path for the utmost wrong reasons, or no reasons at all. We're big on empathy; we've suffered to learn the importance of empathy. And if you ever visit an Albanian home, the hospitality you'll encounter will surpass any European country home you know or beleive.

Where do you live in Bali? I have a small house in Ubud, but almost never come there tbh, because, when I’m in Indonesia, I spend most of the time in Bandung-Jakarta; and I’m currently living abroad. But it would be nice to know a fellow Interista there :)

Anyway, I’m a traveler, albeit mostly for works, and I can tell you Bali is only a fragment of Indonesia’s beauty. I’m not saying the whole nation is nice, but surely there many things worth to explore there (food, sight, people, cultures, and so on). You know, Indonesia is truly Asia, not Malaysia :p (no offense to any Malaysian here, I like your people, not all but many :) ).

We re-elected Berlusconi.

How come? I thought he is a crook, isn’t he?

Wow...Tampaksiring (15 minutes from Ubud) is my hometown. But, since I was a kid i live in Denpasar. I've just finished my study in Gadjah Mada University :D
Sure it is. Indonesia has more thigs to discover. Even as a Balinese, yet not all beautiful place I've discovered :eek:kay: I'd like to discover Indonesia at first. There's so much things to do. Once I go abroad that'll be for education reason and watching Inter in Italy. :p
