Thuram does not excite me at all still. I get that he's a free agent but €5m is too steep. I'd rather beg Chelsea for a cheaper Lukaku loan deal. Then again, I thought Lazaro would be a great signing so don't mind me.

The growth Decree could be applied and his gross salary will be around 8 mln, while Lukaku costs us 12, without the loan fee.
I'm not very exited too, but this is our reality unfortunately.

Anyway, that kind of offer would sound if the player accepts, we wouldn't re-loan Lukaku.

Inter’s hopes of signing Marcus Thuram have been boosted after Bayern Munich stepped away from the race for him

As reported in newspaper edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport, Bundesliga champions Bayern have decided to focus their attentions on Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane, with Randal Kolo Muani of Eintracht Frankfurt lined up as an alternative.

Similarly, the Bavarian club are ready to offer striker Eric Choupo-Moting a new contract, with Thuram no longer a priority.

The France international is set to be available as a free agent in the summer after deciding not to sign a contract extension with Gladbach, and Inter have long been tracking him.

I guess the best case scenario is Thuram with Dzeko extension and hopefully Correa offloaded.

Højlund turned Atalanta's season around. Wouldn't be surprised if they make the CL again.

We should look into Zapata & Muriel. Those would also fulfill our club's signing philosophy.

Nice formatting for the post. Yeah I didn't bother checking but so many bums lit that league on fire. It's a fun league because of stadium atmospheres, teams being fan owned, grassroots nature of German football etc. but it's a joke in terms of competitiveness.

Now I haven't seen Thuram outside of the WC but people are making a mistake thinking he's cheap just because he'll be signing on a free. Even if we ignore the signing bonus, he'll cost the club €8m a year over a five year period for a total cost of €40m. Not to mention it sets a new standard when negotiating with other players in the squad -- for instance Bastoni would say I'm at least worth as much if not more than that since I'm more important & valuable. Thuram still might succeed but would turn into deadwood quite quickly if he doesn't.

Just because it's being talked about in the thread: a Højlund type signing (~€20m transfer fee, ~€2m net salary) would cost a similar amount over a five year period. (Of course I'm talking about Højlund before Atalanta signed him.) Even if such a signing doesn't pan out, we'd have the chance to flip him for a minimal loss.

If we don’t renew Lukaku and can get Correa on loan (pay 1/4th of his salary) and if we bring someone like Satriano back from loan (small wages 4th striker) and manage to renew Dzeko with little lower wages, we might have some room in our budget to get one decent forward in?

Maybe too many if’s in that scenario

I think we need to look for players who are underperforming this season, but might have gualities that would suit to Inzaghi tactics.

That Thuram dude seem to be asking fucking grazy wages and I hope we don’t get him as he is not that good of a player.

In similar Serie A lists you will find guys like Giovanni Simeone, Simy, Caputo, Abraham, Muriel. Oh. And the constant top scorer, Ciro Immobile, who was a massive flop in Germany.

You're not, but people mostly focus on him because he's one of those free targets we could actually afford to get.

Well isn't it better then? Lukaku but with less money invested in him. That's surely better than keeping Lukaku then.
