So let me get this straight! Sassuolo just paid 10 million for half of Berardi which means Berardi's full price is 20 million. But they agreed to a buy-back clause of 18 million which means they have to pay his wages, develop him and then lose 2 million to Juve?

What kind of retarded deal is that?!

I really don't think Berardi is worth anything above 15 million but I'm willing to risk it and bid 20 million just to fuck with Juve and make them spend money!

You can look things in another way:
Sassolo pay 1 Million for loaning berardi for another year (or 2).

That's not how it works.

Sassuolo must accept an offer of 18M from Juve. But that just gives them the right to buy out the contract, which is worth nothing if Berardi can't agree personal terms with Juve. If Inter also offer 18M, and Sassuolo accept this (which in theory they have no reason not to, Juve aren't legally allowed a clause where a team can't accept offers of equal or higher value from rival teams), and then Berardi does agree terms with Inter and not Juve...then he goes to Inter.

But then, in this day an age, being a fan as a kid seems worth little. Juve are the bigger club at this particular moment in time, they would probably offer a higher wage given our recent streak of austerity in that particular area, and Berardi would end up at Juve anyway.

Anyway, a Vice-Icardi, errr...my hopes are not high. Doesn't seem to be particularly high on the club's priority list. I'm not expecting a player of any real calibre showing up.

Neither do I, but there are lot of experienced players who can be more then decent back up for us even in serie A. I have that kind of deal in mind, low cost, decent wage and decent experience.

I understand how the deal works. But you really think sassulo would risk ruining their relationship with juve if they tell them not to accept an offer below 25 or 30 mil? The amount of money they make from their juve deals are probably more than the profit they'd get from a Berardi deal

Well I would prefere to see him play somewhere rather then be back up for player of Icardis level. He will not have to many minutes here to develope and its quite important for 19y old player to have first team football.

Thats why I would like some experienced serie A player just to be quiet.
