Mazzarri wants to play Kovacic as Hamsik. He's said so himself.

and that is a fail because Kova should play deeper(he could be a sucessfull DLP for us if signor Mazzarri played one of course :eek:kay:eek:r a CM but not an AM!)

Maybe that he's in his 30s? He's played for Roma, Real Madrid, Milan and Inter in his career. He's also has 35 Italian NT caps and 10 goals.

Exactly, he's now in his 30's. So on top of having a bad attitude and lazy he now has a dodgy ticker and slower legs. Super talented, but not the player we need when we're supposed to be building a side. We did the right thing in getting rid of him. The only thing we did do wrong is refuse to play young players in his absence.

He's suited to Parma. A side which can play through him all day. Not a side which is supposedly trying to play a team game built on running.

Anyway, enough off-topic. If you want to continue this you can reply to this in the Cassano thread.

I don't think we can say that he should not be playing AM until we actually see him play as an AM rather than a SS

Fact of the matter is, Cassano would not have survived here, and he isn't going to survive now. Praise/Blame Mazzarri.

All I hope now is that Mazzarri has a say in the signings that come through, but I personally don't want another forward.

In other news I hear we're having another go at Osvaldo, been transfer-listed and Southampton are willing to take a 5 million pound hit, so it's looking like 10 million pounds, Juve also want him.

I understand you've always been a big fan of Cassano, but if you don't see all the downsides to his game you're blind. He does great things, but he gives the ball away in bad positions, he doesn't play within a system. He doesn't run. He can't last an entire game. He'd be forced to run out wide to collect the ball all game under Mazzarri, and he simply wouldn't be able to do it.

A luxury player. He'll win you games, but not titles.

There is a reason he's playing at Parma and not a big club.
you don't have to be some sort of cassano fan boy to realise that he would improve this inter.

he might be slow and 30, but he is far from finished, he's still scoring goals and assisting at parma. You cant seriously think that we play better without him, or he would not improve this shit team do you?

Maybe he would, maybe he wouldn't, it's a pointless discussion because we'll never know. Mazzarri doesn't want him and I doubt he is going to want to come back now.

Just what is the point of lamenting Cassano in this thread, really?

I think with Cassano in the team we would have less ball because he often doesn't make enough effort to be in space. I think we'd lose the ball in bad situations more often because he unpredictability is both a positive and a negative when it comes to our attack. and he would limit our tactical flexibility - not that Mazzarri is particularly flexible.

So I think we'd score more, but also concede more. The fact is that right now our most creative players are either playing out of position(Alvarez) or on the bench(Kovacic). Mazzarri isn't willing to play Kovacic due to his lack of defensive game, so how would anyone expect him to play Cassano is beyond me.

So again - we made the right decision. Cassano would be a bench player, and he'd cause issues because he wouldn't accept that role.

Keeping Cassano >>>>> keeping Milito.

We would have saved half of Militos wages and at least Cassano wouldn't always be injured.

We had a chance to send Milito back to racing and get rid of his contract and instead decided to ship out Cassano + money for a kid we will never play.

Dani Osvaldo has been suspended by Southampton after a training-ground incident which left defender Jose Fonte with serious facial injuries.
The alleged incident took place during a practice match on Thursday and Osvaldo has now been suspended for two weeks by the club.
According to Southampton sources there was blood everywhere after the violent clash during match practice.

Fonte, who is known for his aggressive, niggly approach, had irritated Osvaldo during a high-tempo training session on Thursday morning.
Osvaldo finally reacted and the altercation was described as ‘brutal’ by one Saints source.
Despite claims that the club were united following the departure of executive chairman Nicola Cortese, this raises fresh concerns that the squad harmony has been affected by his departure.

The fight was broken up by team-mates but Osvaldo has been suspended following an emergency disciplinary hearing by Southampton executives.
The 28-year-old will sit out the FA Cup fourth-round tie with Yeovil, as well as Barclays Premier League fixtures against Arsenal and Fulham.

A statement released on Southampton's website read: 'Southampton Football Club has today suspended striker Dani Osvaldo for two weeks, following an incident at the club's Staplewood training ground.

'The club has taken swift and proper action for what it considers a breach of the conduct expected of its players.

'Southampton will be making no further comment on this matter.

I heard he was running at him with a sword. WE DON'T NEED IDIOTS LIKE THIS IN OUR IDIOT TEAM.

And this was fucking 4 days ago, anybody saw this?
